With the bosch unit, the indoor unit drip pan had a crack and they wouldnt even hear my request to escalate it to tech support because a licensed hvac tech didnt install it.
I recently installed 18k for a 500 SQ ft living room with 15 ft ceilings and it's far more than enough even when 95F.
18k won't dehumidify such a small space.

Think about it like this too....
In the summer when it is 100 out you cool to 70F. 30 degree differential.
In the winter it is 0F out you heat to 70F. 70F differential.
Heating takes a ton more btus because you're spanning a much wider temp differential.
Also the 12 has less amperage requirements, so depends if your placing on an existing circuit or not
No, you don't need all those circuits. You can run multiple units off one circuit (run one large circuit outside and split). You only need 15A breakers outside (I get the mini breaker outdoor boxes and for whatever reason the breakers are 16A).
Think about it like this too....

In general, sales/contractors will often oversize as they often anchor based on gas units and old homes with zero to no wall insulation.
I was in a situation where a contractor recommended a boiler unit that turned out to be ~40% bigger than needed. He just went with what I had before. I wasted a lot of energy over the past 12 years...
Why don't you want an oversized unit? It might cycle on/off more often. To run your system more efficiently, you want to run it at a relatively constant pace as opposed to turning on / off every 20min. Maybe that less of an issue with variable speed heat pumps but still, sizing is super important
Amazing to see how more consumer demand leads to more choices and efficiency gains.
Be a smart shopper - look for the most efficient units, size BTUs properly in addition to balancing brand and price.

Might be better to buy a DIY with pre charged R410 that qualfies than mess with R32 systems from Costway
