Molex connector
Proprietary fan connectors so you can't even use normal fan headers/5v RGB headers
Must install thermaltake software to have any control over these fans

I'm failing to see how this is a good deal when you can just buy 2-3 sets of Thermalright RGB fans for roughly the same amount of money. The Thermalright fans use normal fan headers, normal 5V RGB headers, and the RGB/Fan hubs Thermalright uses are Sata powered so no need to add a whole extra molex connector to your system just for one thing. There is also no need to take up a USB header or install any extra software just to control the fans. The Thermalright fans are the same CFM and RPM but are actually a tiny bit quieter. You can even buy them in white or black to match your build colors.

Wife just picked these. I used the tt software to set up the fan curve, then signalrgb for the lighting. It syncs her logitech, razer, crucial, and steelseries accessories with the rgb fans. The biggest headache with it was the g hub software had to run on startup to remember her keyboard macros. signalrgb also found her nanoleaf and paired with it almost instantly. The nano app and Google voice commands couldn't even keep the lighting consistent, some days it would work then other days it would ignore her or say an error message.

I almost actually got these for my kids setup but went with Deepcool fans that were on sale during a lightning sale last night for less than these Thermaltake fans and are argb pmw fans too.

The issue with the Thermalright ones are if you want it for the rbg the color profile seems to be off, so if you have other devices you have rgb with, certain colors will be off which you can see in many reviews.

I bought these fans years ago and they still are going strong today (almost 3 years) but I agree very much that these use their own property 5pin out and hub which if the hub goes bad then you're out of luck using these fans without buying another hub if still available.

I would have never thought that I would have ever wanted computer fans that could be controlled by Alexa, but my computer tower is in direct view of my bed and the lights are actually pretty bright when everything else is turned off and the bearings are going bad in my old ones so I might have to pick these up.

During Prime Day the Thermalright fans were going for ~$11 per set. The one's I've been buying recently all look the same as the other RGB components in the system such as the ram/GPU/AIO. Maybe my eyes aren't as good as they used to be but I'm not noticing any differences in the color compared to the other components in the system. Maybe there are more physical LEDs in the other components you're comparing them to thus leading to a slightly different looking color profile?

Could even just be that 3 years ago they were getting their components from a different supplier who had a slightly different manufacturing process?

I have two sets of these in my old rig and hate them with a passion. It used to be a daily affair to have to remove the case panel and unplug one of the daisy chained controllers to reset them. Otherwise, the RGB would constantly stay on with an obnoxious pattern and could not be changed or turned off

Run 9 of these in my case. Not loud even at 80%. Software works well enough. Colors are nice. Recommend

Nah, just figure out what the pins are and pin them to a standard header. Actually bought the stuff to do mine but the controllers have been rock solid so never repinned them.

I installed these exact fans and control them through gigabyte software on computer. Also bought another generic fan to add to the back of my case and just cut the wires off the connector ends and works as well. Definitely didn't need to use the controller on my Motherboard and can control everything.

was looking for rgb case fans for my new build and i don't want to spend more than $50 or more a pack. i was considering buying the thermaltake, but i found some other brands like thermalright and antec which costs less than $50 a pack. and the antec fans have 5 pack for $54.

link for antec fans
https://www.amazon.com/Antec-5V-3PIN-Addressable-Motherboard-Controller/dp/B09FXDSJFC/?_encoding=UTF... [amazon.com]

what do you think? or should i buy the thermaltake? thanks
