I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

Does this mean one could potentially flash the official RETUS firmware from the motorola recovery tool over the Boost firmware?

The motorola phones I'm used to each had a different firmware branch and most of the carrier branded branches were always bootloader locked. They could be recovered/reimaged with the motorola rescue tool but it would only redo the carrier firmware. Do you know if this is still the case?
I'm not sure if it's patched but you can start the rescue and once files are downloaded replace them with files of your choice from lolinet. It should still flash on locked bootloaders.

I got to it through the Boost App. Go to My Account > My Plan > Device. And tap on "SHOP". That will take you to the list of phones. I noticed sometimes the price is not accurate in this list, so select the phone you like and see the real price in cart. Edge+ 2023 is currently $399.99 and Edge+ 2022 is $149.99. Good luck

I just checked my Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 (obtained 07/05/2023 using spare email, etc.)

Was greeted with "Account Suspended," so all is good. One can only "assume" the same occurs with the Edge+ 2022?

Steps taken....

Disabled auto-pay upon receipt/account creation.

Unlocked via ebay code and verified connectivity with T-Mo (Mint) SIM, and Tracfone CDMA SIM, as well as the native Boost SIM (now disabled).

Not worried and debating getting this Edge+ for my daily driver over my Stylus 5G 2021 ....

I upgraded to this phone on 8/04/2023 in my account on boost's website. The upgrade price was $149.99. The price in the cart was $160.49. I was charged $802.49. I called Boost twice about this. I was told twice that the price of the phone is $749.99. I was told the upgrade price is for new customers only. I was told that I was not eligible for the upgrade price. I am not happy at all with Boost right now!!!!!

Good price for a good phone. The price is unbelievable.
However, the 2023 version of Motorola Edge Plus supports even better chip performance and better battery IP68 waterproofing and dustproofing.

It's on sale at Boost Mobile for $400
this Thanksgiving.
Expect to sell for 200 to 300 dollars

I'll wait a few months. It's well worth it for the 2023 version for another $100.

Should i be concerned that i never got a sim in the box? I dun looked twice. I just got a sealed moto box and a orange square paper saying welcome to Boost.

I have disabled auto pay. But the site still has "You have line(s) that are not activated yet. " and i cant really activate it till i get a sim...

After having a curved screen phone, I'm not a fan of curved screen.

You can flash with lolinet by doing the replace file method. However i do believe this breaks OTA. As even though you will have the offical retail rom with a locked bootloader, your software channel will still be DISH and it will forever fail to grab updates.
