I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

Did you have to do anything special to make it work on Verizon? I can't seem to get it to work on TracFone.

Thanks,
Ash

No, I just took the sim out of my previous phone and put it in the Moto Edge Plus. I have been able to swap sim like that before without any issues, when I got my Pixel 3 XL.

Add the Tacefone APN to there, it should work. I have Visible (Verizon company) , added Visible APN , it works fine

Waiting for the 2023 model sale not 2022 model
I think they sold it for $200 on boost Mobile last Thanksgiving.
But the reason I didn't buy it was because I didn't like the Snap 8 Zen 1.
The reason I want to buy this year is because I like the Snap 8 Zen 2 and the battery and everything else
Except for the curve screen

Boost Mobile is already selling the 2023 for $400 right now. It's easy to guess that it'll be $200 or $300 for the upcoming Thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving last year, Motorola was selling a 2022 model for $400 Motorola US site
now it's selling 2023 model for $700.
If you want to buy an unlocked Motorola phone for $400, that's not a bad price either.
nice memory. hats off yo u. well done
but if i understand correctly,
what u say is that it may or may not be less price on TG.
makes sense since i dont think u or anybody else can predict the future.

I bought the Moto G Stylus from Boost 1.5 month ago from a similar deal. I used a one-time use CC and now my Boost acct is suspended. Can I do this deal again using a credit card in my name (I can use a different email)?

Slightly ignorant question.

Im going to a work site for a week and need a data plan. Is there any harm in popping in the boost sim in the boost phone and just using it? I have auto pay already turned off, and the phone is carrier unlocked. Im 99% sure that a carrier can not relock a phone...

I have this phone. It's very good. I think the 512gb offered here is the Snapdragon processor, whereas the 256gb is the Mediatek which is inferior. This seems like a really good buy. As good as this is the 2023 edge is even better.

There is no Mediatek SoC used in Motorola edge+.

They are referring to the non plus Edge.

That said, this deal (and the 2023) is now dead

Does 2023 version have esim? I couldn't find this answer. Personally not having an esim is a huge deal breaker for me.

The Boost variant has it disabled.

I put in an order Saturday morning and it hasn't been shipped yet. I originally had an issue paying with PayPal but after a few times it worked. Got an order number and confirmation. But no shipping confirmation yet. They said orders made during the weekend would have to wait until the following Monday but it has not. I will wait and see what happens tomorrow
I ordered Friday night 8ish, got order confirmation, no shipping confirmation yet but UPS says they will deliver a package from Dish Boost tomorrow to my house...
