I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

Had the phone now for about a week. It's been a great phone for 200 bucks used on T-Mobile with full 5GUC it does not have as many radio bands as my note 20 ultra 5g so when I went into a metal roof home Depot this past weekend. I completely lost signal whereas my old note 20 ultra worked fine. Popped the boost sim in the note 20 ultra and that's working fine too...
Do you have the link of where you got it unlocked

many good points.
however to add...

a54 v e+

final price 94 v 205 [not 4x cost...add potential cash back to e+ and its ~ $80 more for e+]
memory 6 v 8
storage 128 v 512
processor exynos 1380? v snapdragon 8th gen

probably forgetting other things
yes, forgot the $40 plan required for the Metro deal. So that cuts the A54 to half the cost. The senior lady I got the Moto G Stylus 5G for is happy as could be and she was super happy about the WM price of phone + plan OTD for $57.

Just curious - how would you compare this moto edge to S22U? I know camera and screen are better on Samsung, what about the rest? thanks.
Edge+ is more comparable to s22+. It's probably slightly inferior than s22+ because of the lack of telephoto lens and a dimmer display and not having a metal frame.

S22 ultra is a level above. It has some features like periscope lens, low latency stylus, high nits display, etc which makes it a different level than the edge+

Hey needed to know if you faced this issue ? If I am making a video call and while I'm talking, if the other person starts talking at the same time the phone kind of muffles my voice and goes back to normal once the other person stops talking. I didn't know and got the feedback from the person at the other end and tested this behavior at home with my partner and it happens every single time the person at the other end talks over me.
What you described is probably related to noise cancellation feature of the phone not working correctly.
Did you use a case? The case may interfere with some noise cancellation mic.
Or the way you holding the phone is blocking the noise cancellation mic.

Two phones I got from this deal do the same thing. Another poster said three of theirs does it too. It's probably just a software bug.

Finally received mine today. Put my Visible sim in and unlocked it with code from desbloquealord on ebay, which I got on the 9th btw. Proceeded to go through the setup screen and transferred old data and files from my old S10 with the cable provided with this new phone. All good to go!

As a note: This phone did not pass the IMEI checker on Visibles site. Nor did my S10. With that said, I activated the Visible sim on the 7th on my "incompatible" S10. And it also works just fine in this "incompatible" Edge+ 2022. Why not use the Boost service? Because $35 Visible+ unlimited everything.

Production date for mine is 6/25/2023 and it was already updated to it's highest A12 patches.
Does mobile hotspot work on visible? Mine doesn't work on Verizon

Yes I have a cover. But I tried without the cover multiple times and still the same issue. Do you know if there is a way to switch off the noise cancellation ?

No idea how to turn off the noise cancellation.
Have you tested using bluetooth earbuds or wired headphone to see if the problem still exists? It will confirm the issue is related to noise cancellation, which may be a software bug or defective hardware/mic.
Or maybe it's a bug of the video chatting app which somehow is not processing the noise cancellation correctly and treats your sound as background noise when the other side is talking.

If you don't have the issue with phone voice call on speaker, then it may be the bug of the video call app.

I fail to see how this is a deal vs the Samsung A54 which has a number of improvements over this Moto. Screen brightness of the A54 goes to 1,000 nits vs 699 on the Moto, A54 has a substantially higher water resistant rating of IP67 vs Moto's IP52 which means not able to survive and immersion), Samsung A54 has 5 years of support while my previous Moto's were 1 or 2. Price on Metro for the A54 is $49.99. So other than a quick unlock and 4x the cost of the Moto, what's the attraction?
Worse performance, no good for mobile gaming or emulation, can't root ever, less internal storage (and slower), etc.

Yes, I agree the screen and update policy are much better.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do now. Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I already unlocked the phone so don't know if I can even return it back to boost if the issue is the hardware itself.

Working fine on T-Mobile. Fast even an hr away from the city. Something my older 5g phone struggled with.
