I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

I think it kinda sucks. Seems to go down 15% every 8-10 hours doing nothing. Like i will give it a full charge before bed, and wake up and it will be at 85%. I goto work and maybe have 1 hour of screen time between google maps and answering a few texts and snapping a few photos. By the time i get home she is at 25-30%. I didnt even game nor surf nor watch youtube...

Id say my oneplus 8 lasted 4x longer with this usage pattern.
My standby time is excellent. I can go to bed for 8 hours and it will only be about 96%. But under normal usage it does go down pretty quick. After a typical workdays with my Moto G Power 2020, it would be above 70% on average. With this it's about 45%-50%.

It's a nice tradeoff, this is way faster and more pleasant to use. And it charges a lot faster, even slow charging.

Ordered and unlocked with an ebay unlock code which asks about $6.

Phone is overall not bad. But some cons

1. Too hot sometimes. The AP Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is made in Samsung foundry SEC 5nm, a very poor tech compared with TSMC 5nm or 4nm.

2. The main rear camera is horribly bad compared with other flagship phones from Samsung or Google. Don't expect any flagship quality.

My numbers are pretty much the same as yours.
Once Android 13 is released for this, I am going to ADB remove many useless battery robbing apps

Does anyone have a recommendation for a case for this phone?

Was going to order the OtterBox Commuter, but a lot of people complain about the volume buttons with that case.

I bought this one, fits well and isn't bulky.

My edge+ just went completely dead. It is only a week old. Put charger in, no response. Long press power. Power+vol up, power+vol down, all no respond. Plug in computer, nothing. It is not dropped or in the water. Has anyone hit this problem?
See if this youtube video [youtube.com] helps. This is for Moto G Power. But I am assuming that same fix might apply for this model too.
