I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

The phones in the exact same room so the exact same conditions and the Moto would lose signal completely and speeds where inconsistent when it was connected. The Pixel kept a strong consistent signal and speeds but it wasn't the Moto with some issue?
There are lots of other factors, that's just the way the equation works. Sorry you're having trouble!

Here are a few examples

"1.) Spatial variations in signal level caused by antenna pattern, reflections, and path differences over very small phone movements

2.) The strength indicators in a phone are not calibrated to any signal strength standard. The indications vary from phone to phone even (when the same type) because of small electrical differences in components

3.) Things near the phone, including people, change the signal levels

4.) If two phones are on at the same time from the same location on the same carrier, the phones pick different channels and even different cell bands or cell towers. There is no reason they would have the same signal"

Also, something called Cell Breathing could be taking place. Honestly the reasons and variables are pretty vast for why you have experienced that with those two phones.

Could be different apps on different phones, could be unlocked phone vs locked phone, could be different cases, could be hardware issue on one phone.

All apples are apples. All the insides of all apples are unique. Apples and apples.

Apples.

Moto's used to be known for grabbing and holding a signal, but the past few I have purchased had inconsistent signals and lower speeds than my Pixel 3a and 6a on the same network and same sim. I've moved on from them. That said, this Edge looks to be a very good phone, but not for me due to it's mega size and only 1 update vs Pixel 6a with 3 years of OS updates and 5 years of security.

I think they need to drop the Power line because most of their phones have the same or close battery capacity now. If they drop that line and focus on fixing their issues but Lenovo seems to just be putting out a lot of buggy tech.

I am coming from a Samsung s20 ultra so this new moto edge actually feels rather svelte and thin to me and I like it. I guess perception of size depends on what one is used to.
This actually fits in my shorts pocket whereas the s20 stuck out.
Very nice phone

Hi Guys,

When I tried to checkout, I don't see any autopay feature?

Do I have to tell them to cancel after one month after purchase?

A phone modem has capable speeds, the modem in this moto has a much much much better modem than the pixel 6a, sorry you had issues with your phone + sim + area + T-Mobile.

Only outside factors affect the speed, but the modem in each phone is fully capable for whatever it's rated modem wise.
I get much better speeds with my Pixel 6a vs the Moto Stylus 5G with the same sim and same location. Maybe this Edge model has improved? The dismal support and resale with a Moto is real. Even unlocked, there is little interest in Moto on FB Marketplace.
