Honestly, I'd start looking for a similar deal about 4.5 months in - Mint usually has something similar; their current promo is for three months right now.

Never had an issue getting port out details via phone. Only trouble I've ever had is via chat due to connection issues.
Upon activation and registration, ensure that you make note of your customer identification pin (cip) and the puk code from the sim card. Just take a picture of the Sim card. You will need this cip and puk code information, along with your registered name, address, phone, birth date and 2 or 3 most dialed or texted numbers, whenever you want to port out
