Do you have link to a brand name 2Qt ice cream maker for $40? You may find cheap brand 1.5qt for around $40-50. Even Cuisinart 1.5qt is over $60. I got one by Dani with 1.5qt capacity for around $40 around 15 years ago. The wall of the bucket is much thinner than the KitchenAid one.

I was thinking the same thing before I bought my first machine a few days ago but after I made my first batch I have no regrets and am glad I bought one the killer deal on the machine made it even better. Link:

Even if it isn't cheaper than store bought (heavy cream is expensive) the homemade ice cream tastes better and you know what you're eating. There's no preservatives/chemicals etc. It's basically just milk, cream, sugar and whatever you flavor it with. You can also adjust/tweak the recipe to exactly how you like it.
My first batch was chocolate and not strong enough for me so I increased the cocoa powder until it was much better, it tasted the way I like it, like Ben and Jerry's chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate, thick and chewy.

Just my 2 cents for someone considering buying their first ice cream machine.

It's a great ice cream maker but the spinning plastic piece that connects to your kitchen aid is a POS and easily breaks. They don't even sell replacements for them. Had to wait for weeks to get a new one under warranty. Next time I'll just 3D print my own.

I don't get why anyone would want to put that much strain on their expensive kitchen aid motor?! I buy the 4 quart ice cream makers from Walmart for 30 bucks and not have that worry of burning up my motor.

Have this and have used it to make ice cream using cashews, oat milk, and syrup (plus vanilla or cocoa). It only takes a few minutes for it to be right consistency for soft-serve. Another minute or two later, it's more solid.

A little annoying havin to place bowl in freezer beforehand, but not major if you are aware of the prep work. We kept ours stored in the freezer full-time.

You honestly think 3D printing your own will be stronger?

Attached is a link to another ice cream maker at QVC that I think is a better deal.

It has a built in compressor and was around $46 shipped with the code "NEWQVC30" or "QVCNEW30" ($30 off sitewide for new customers). I forget which code I used.

I can't comment on it's longevity because I've only had mine for a few days but I"ve used it a couple times and it works great. At this low price buy an extra one for a spare or for a future Christmas, birthday present etc. for someone.

What I also like is that you can make 2 separate/different batches or flavors back to back. After you make the first batch and remove the steel bowl with the handle you can make another batch in the non-removablle steel bowl that's built into the base of the machine using the other mixing paddle. They give you 2 paddles, a white one to use with the smaller removable bowl with the handle and a larger paddle (it has a blueish tint) for the larger steel bowl built into the base.

Someone should post the one in my link on the FrontPage, I think it's an excellent deal. I don't know how to post a deal, I"ve never posted one before.
Do you still have to freeze the bowl? That's always my concern, don't know if I have room in freezer for a big bowl to freeze.

I put in my address and it's saying it's too long? What kind of whack checkout system limits the amount of characters in an address field?

If you have a capable printer, yes. There are ABS and high strength PLA filaments.

I have this bowl. What strain is being created, exactly? You run the mixer on the lowest setting. Zero worries about burning up the motor.

1. Code worked fine for awhile after posted.
2. Post is a great deal that many wouldn't have found even if the coupon code was posted previously.
3. Why not just ignore this deal and move on if you aren't interested?

My husband broke 2 before he realized that the motor has to be spinning before adding liquid ingredients to the bowl otherwise it breaks because the liquid freezes hard almost instantly

Agree. Motor can't be designed for that kind of duty cycle.

What makes you think spinning a bunch of liquid around a cold bowl is going to cause a strain? It takes more effort to knead dough and that's one of the main uses of the machine.

The comments from people on here are too funny. SD comments have just turned into Reddit 2.0 where everyone who has no interest in a deal comes to post how bad it is.
