We had a few sets of the red top type and I bought these awhile back thinking they'd provide better sealing. They do, but stacking is horrid. The resin is somewhat... tacky, meaning it has a high COF with itself. Also, the lids don't stack in the least and just wind up everywhere.

I'd say that these are better served for pantry storage (dry goods to keep them airtite, e.g. flour, grains, etc)

I don't heat my meals as I'm out in the field when I eat and I have 1 set that's at least 4 years old. So can confirm not using in a microwave helps.
Mine lasted 5 years NO microwave use, just dishwasher. The more well used ones are starting to crack and need to be replaced.

The glass version was on sale recently for $4 more. Not knocking the plastic version, but the glass version is amazing.
The glass version is the way to go.
They last for ever and do not stain.

Have both the glass and plastic versions. I'd skip the plastic - they don't hold up great over time if using the microwave. The glass ones are amazing though.
Glass is great. But I do find the lids are more of a pain to remove than other rubbermaid versions I've had before. Very tight seal and feel like I am going to break the plastic lid sometimes

I bought the glass ones last year and they're amazing. I would jump on this if it were for the glass set.

i love these things but the little plastic that holds in the locks fails so often - we still use them everyday, it's just annoying about the locks

Except it's glass, a ton heavier, bulkier and of course much more fragile.

Oh yeah and much more expensive. This 6 piece set is $33 - the same price as an 18 piece plastic set - so do you want 3 containers or 9, for the same price?

You want the glass ones. Not these plastic ones. And if you shop around, you can pay pretty much this price. Just a little more. The glass ones are amazing.

Got the exact same set a few years back from Slickdeals and Walmart for $19. Thought they were expensive then. Inflation or companies trying to make more profit or maybe both? Prices almost doubled. Salary= No change. Lol

These show up at supermarkets at once twice a year (usually after Christmas) on sale as they change the packaging.

Bought two sets of glass and 1 set of plastic for $19 each last go round

The plastic eventually starts looking like crap

Ironic these post today...

Not only have three quarters of ours gone in the trash within a year because they crack - but the wife was washing the lid of one of the remaining containers and it sliced her finger open.

Avoid avoid avoid.
