I bought two at $99. on what was probably a price mistake from Costco when a member her alerted to the deal. It was taken down in 2 hours. Free shipping too. Sold them each for $400. The thing with Bote is they are all about the heavy marketing, but are horrible with any warranty claim. They deny, delay, and tell lie after lie. This drop stich/high pressure seat has been out of stock on this model and another for 2 years with c/s telling people not in stock, but more coming next month. I know two fishermen using this same kayak, seats blew at the seams and no warranty replacement, but they continue to sell these complete. Avoid these Florida based liars. Go with companies that will take care of you: NRS, Aquaglide, Saturn, Sea Eagle, Advanced Elements.

These are much much better. The Tobin is extremely cheaply made. My buddy got one on clearance at Costco for 50 bucks and he still hates it. It tore his hands up because the included paddle is too short, and the kayak itself buckles in the middle under weight if you're a bit heavier, so you sit very low in it. This Bote kayak is more like a sit on top kayak because of the seat and the rigidity of the materials used.

Hope this helps.

My wife bought this with the intentions of using it with our 7 year old son and it turned out to be too small for 2 people. We did not add a second seat, just had him sit in front of her.
We ended up returning it to Costco and purchased a different Bote kayak.

I love the recommendations of better inflatable Kayaks, none of which if better or premium are close to $299.This is a legit inflatable kayak with accessories worth $300 by themselves that not even the manufacturer includes with their package for more than double the price on the Bote site.

Here's a better kayak than the Bote and from a company who stands behind their gear: Aquaglide Deschutes 110 at outstanding price of $271.99. Add a paddle for $12.99.
https://www.dickssportinggoods.co...ts110xxpsk If you want to see how Bote handles c/s problems, call them and tell them the chair leaks air and see what they say. Lots of unhappy people despite all of their bs 5 star ratings. You claim accessories worth $300?? Laughable. A pump is $30., paddles can be found for $$40 on up which are generally better than the cheep one size fits all from Bote, Bag? Most don't use them as they hold in moisture. Lots of vendors carry bags. See paddlersoutlet.com for Body Glove pumps (very good quality) at $15. and bags at $25. Here's is Bote's long list of warranty exclusions:
This limited warranty does not apply to:
Normal wear and tear and aging of product.
Cosmetic flaws or variations in colors.
Use in excess of the manufacturers recommended maximum load capacity.
Failure to comply with pressure recommendations, assembly / disassembly and handling procedures.
Any puncture, cut or abrasion sustained in normal use or damage from unreasonable uses or improper storage.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® purchased second-hand or used
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® damaged by extreme weather or environmental conditions.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® damaged while in possession of a freight carrier, a dealer, Consumer, or any party other than BOTE®.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® damaged by accident, neglect, improper use or handling.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® that have been towed by power or sail boats.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® designated as Prototypes.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® sold as "demos" or in "as is" condition.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® determined to have been used for any activity other than an activity which is customary for the product.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® that have been structurally or dimensionally altered or modified.
BOTE® or AeroBOTE® used for commercial or rental purposes.
Any product that has been lost or stolen.

This one you suggested seems very good at great price. It's way lighter than the Bote one.
I'd still go with the Bote one just because it has high seat and I have bad back, otherwise I would definitely go with this lighter option you suggested.

no one wants a $12.99 paddle, haha. I don't think you know anything about this topic.

please put it through its paces, and let us know!
I took it out last week in NYC's Jamaica bay. It felt sturdy and stiff when I tried to stand up. After multiple attempts of failing to stand up due to wind and surf, I gave up. Paddling out was easy but coming back to shore took every ounce of energy I had because I was fighting the wind and currents. I never own a kayak of any kind before so I don't know if this is normal. Other than that, I liked it a lot.

visit Dicks and you will see it's a decent paddle at close out and a nice step up from what mfg's include in a kayak package. Now you know.

I checked the PSI of the one you mentioned and it is much lower than the BOTE one. So I suspect the one you mentioned is much softer. Also the weight of the BOTE one is 13 lbs heavier than the one you mentioned, which possibly means thicker/stronger material.

Any type of kayak will be harder to paddle against wind and current so yes that is normal. I try to go out in my kayak an hour before high or low tide if possible. Try going with the tide until it goes slack, then when the tide turns you will be going back with the current towards your original launch point. Then you also have to take wind direction into consideration.
If you plan to kayak much in salt water the first thing to do is find the tide tables for the water area you will be in.

It's the chair/seat weight on the Bote that probably makes up for most of the difference. Both good kayaks, however I'll never deal with Bote again on any warranty issue. The Aquaglide is an outstanding kayak. Pic is from a friend showing how many paddle the Aquaglide kayaks.

Does it come with the seat? I don't see the seat available on the Bote site.

It's been stated many times already it comes with seat. And just to confirm again, I got mine today and it has a seat.

Mine was delivered today and here is my first impressions.

Wow, the box is comes in is massive. Out of box, the backpack bag is smaller and seems to give a good bit of room to be able to get it back in, so I dont think any frustrations with breaking it down after use. However it's still pretty big. In a cars trunk it will take up a good bit of space.

Blowing up with very fast (probably done within 5 min). Sides to 2 psi goes quick and is effortless. Blowing up base floor to 15 psi took a bit more time and work. Honestly that part may not be easy for everyone or a kid to do. Seat also blew up fine (YES IT DOES COME WITH A SEAT). Paddle is nice, but heavier than I prefer. It is smaller than I thought. Based on pictures, I thought a child could sit up front, but I don't think that would be possible, maybe a toddler, maybe.

Overall, quality seemed very good. I found no issues on the boat and everything was packaged well. I'll take it out tomorrow for a test run at a local lake and also do some fishing off it.

Any questions, feel free to ask. But based on first impressions, no regrets, way better than intex inflatables I've had. Material seems very thick, floor is very solid, I think I'll be able to stand no issues on it. This is not a white water raft, so don't expect to use it like one nor hold up like one.

I have or have owned close to a dozen hard kayaks for fishing upwards of $3k+ each. I'm not expecting this to replace anything that I currently own, but I've been eyeing an inflatable for travel and other situations due to its lightweight design.

The Bote chair is only maybe a couple of pounds. It is not accounting for 13# and also the one you listed also has a seat, so certainly can't ignore the weight added by the seat from one kayak and not the other.

Stop with all this warranty/CS issues. From what I read, you yourself actually have zero hands on experience using Bote and working with their customer service.

This is being sold by Costco. If anyone has an issue, just return it to Costco. If this was not being sold from Costco, then maybe your concerns are valid, but still this is a well known brand. Their warranty exclusions are inline with other kayak manufacturers, pretty standard language.

Inflating high pressure paddle board and kayaks like this can be exhausting with manual pump. In case you are looking for a decent electric pump here's a good one from iROCKER. iROCKER is a reputable brand pretty much like Bote but they have good discounts on their pumps right now. This pump is ranked one of the top 10s and is one of the fastest.
(Bote's electric pumps are ridiculously expensive and overpriced)

Also, if you're kakaking solo and are concerned about heavy weight here's a good kakak cart. It's not as good as the legendary C-Tug but pretty similar.
