Not a bad price but the 300-nit screen is a huge downgrade from the same models for the past two years which were 500-nits. Also the 4070 is somewhat slower in some games than the 3070 but you do get DLSS.

for 40 series/ada mobile, nvidia used a lower tier gpu versus the desktop cards. (high number after the two letters means a lower spec chip, so XX102 is better than XX104

the 3060 mobile and desktop 3060 are both GA106 chip. the 3070 mobile and desktop are both GA104 chip.

the 4070 mobile is AD106 chip, while the 4070 desktop gpu is AD104.

because the 4070 mobile is based on AD106, it inherits the miserable 128bit memory bus of the desktop 4060 AD106.

for certain games and emulators, etc, this lack of bandwidth can severely hurt performance.

4070 and 300 nits absolutely make this a heavy paperweight when it comes to gaming.

I like your knowledge and analysis. Which legion 7 would you recommend them?

Just a heads up Google lenovo usb port issues. I have a 2022 laptop and all my USB ports stopped working after warranty. Seems it's a very common issue

This. Will be going Legion 7 pro this generation because the 7 Pro starts with 500nit screens. The 500 nit screen with the resolution makes this a great laptop for productivity tasks.

I will never buy Lenovo again after both memory slots on my X1 Extreme Carbon failed not long after the 1 year warranty expired. I mean, really?

I did the same went for the 4070 with 1tb and living in FL we got no tax right now so I went ahead and paid for the three year coverage (including battery and accidental just in case).

Just got it today and installing everything so will have some experience soon.

Overall pretty happy.

Only thing I wish they would have went with glass mouse pad over the plastic feel but I wont use it much so whatever.

How is this compared to the Legion Slim models?
If your intention is to use it for gaming, then avoid slim model from ANY manufacture. I have an older model with GTX 2060 and it is already loud enough during gaming.

Not a good price.
300 nits don't go well with such components especially the 4070 card.
I purchased one with 1TB storage and 500 nits, $1,401.94 before tax
