Was gonna pass this to a new home owner I know... until I saw the... "if you return the batteries" part. Bummer.
2 batteries are included with the kit, OP is referring to returning the extra 2 pack of batteries you add as your "free" item.
edit: shows $499 for me on product page but then drops to $154 in cart. great deal for new homeowner as the brushed version is usually around $199 on sale.

OP, can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing in your cart? This is showing up as $500 for me.
EDIT: changed stores to another nearby store and the price adjusted, thanks OP, i was going to buy the multitool and circ saw earlier with the ryobi days things, but this ends up being cheaper and i get the extra tools and batteries.
Does the combo come all in one box? I just bout the 7-1/4 circular saw and might be able to return the one that comes with the kit to recoup some cost. I don't have the original box for the saw though.

I see this type of deals with hacking from time to time but never tried it.
I'm not sure if Home Depot is perfectly fine with hacking though. Would they say anything when you return in store? Is it also moral from their end? Anybody?

I have done two hacks and neither time they have said anything... Both from same store, haven't tried another store
I canceled the batteries from the app after placing the order. The website would only let me cancel both but the app broke them out for separate cancellation. Showing as $154 + tax with batteries canceled. Thanks, op. Had my eye on the recip saw but this is way more tools for an extra $30. Bit of a drive to pick it up since the store near me was a higher price but so it goes.
For anyone in the DC area the VA stores are the only ones that showed the lower price for me.

EDIT;
Post was adjusted - my comment s no longer relevant. The initial post sounded like the $150 price included the batteries.
