This is a nice deal for sure leveraging the sale price with the 250 off coupon, but it's an odd placement even at ~$400 each.

I think this deal makes more sense if you have two separate usages where one good quality 10" would be enough for each room, maybe split an order with a buddy or a "regular" person being happy with a living room and basement pair in one shot. But then you've still got a lot of options to consider around $400 per sub.

A room big enough to need a pair of 10" subs would likely be better suited to larger subs to start. It's not like these are a compact 10" model or anything like that. Once you are ok with big boxes in the room you might as well go all in with larger drivers.

All in all subs are always a tough choice. I just struggle thinking where two of these at $800 would be the best choice for one room.
Dual subs are not purely about filling a room of a given size. It's also about compensating for the inability for perfect subwoofer placement and overall increased sound quality.
May want to peruse the last few pages of the monolith owners thread on AVS Forums. Reliability doesn't seem to be included in the price of these subs. Monoprice is responsive apparently.

For an alternative RSL has blemished Speedwoofer 10S MKIIs in white available for $399. It let me add a pair to my cart and no tax in GA. I emailed about these and these are factory cosmetic blemished not returns. Final sale no returns but carry the full warranty.

The wireless option for $50 extra seems nice. I ordered one in black and I should have it Friday.

Anyone tried getting the discount twice by placing two orders of two subwoofers?

Yah, I get that, but I also think if you are to the point of worrying about uniform room coverage of a 4500sqft room with a ~$1000+ sub budget, you should be looking at more output per box than a 10". These aren't compact 10" subs, they're 75lb full sizers that are still limited by that 10" driver size.

Far as the amplifier stuff goes honestly plate amps all kind of suck, so I lean pretty heavily on the vendor being reputable and what the warranty length is. But if these are known to be problematic it's worth considering as well, because paying for a new replacement amp out of pocket is rarely worth it.

I'm sure they sell many. Great value. I once believed the same as you but my 6 months old M15 V2 amp died and I had to fight all the way up to the VP of product development to get it replaced because foreign tech support jerked me around for two weeks saying Amazon was an unauthorized retailer and they wouldn't provide replacement or service. This was just last week. That said I do like the product but tech support leaves more than something to be desired
I would agree, I know several people that had similar issues and share your sentiment.
The good price comes with a big gamble, if you get a good one count your blessings.

I would kinda agree with you.
If the capability of this sub falls under what someone needs/wants, with proper implementation you can be satisfied.

Frank&beans has a good point though.
Proper placement is critical for that implementation.
With this big of a footprint, a larger driver with similar size footprint may be a better option.
I was simply saying that room size isn't the only factor with dual subs. You can still get better SQ from duals in a small room. And nowhere did I advocate for these subs specifically. Just saying if someone is set on buying a pair of these specifically, they don't have to go into two different setups. Also, when going dual, you want identical subs.

There's a separate deal already posted for it, but you can use this coupon to get a M-15 V2 for $950.
If you want a big sub, you'd almost certainly be better off going for the 15" over the pair of 10's.

I own 4 of them ...two of them bought open box and have never had an issue going to back almost 3 years now
Like I said others like yourself will say they haven't had any issues. Where as others that's not the case. So it's only fair people are aware of the issue. I've had my fair share of problems with the Monoprice 15v2. And so has my coworker.

Not trying to be argumentative or cause any arguments. Just spreading awareness of the issues.

You have to real careful of people who have nothing but hearsay and have had no experience with what they speak of

I think Monolith has sold a LOT of subs and have a lot of satisfied customers
I am willing to bet that the people that actually had issues is a very small percentage of the total

I own four Monolith subs and never had an issue
Though it may be a small percentage. It's still an issue to be aware of and take into consideration. People are now starting to think Monoprice is selling returned subs as new subs. All of ithese things being said about these subs are starting to become red flags. Probably explains how they can get away with these kinds of pricing.

I bought the V1 version about two years ago. No issues here. My only complain is the Auto on function doesn't always work (have to crank up the volume for the sub to power on). Now I just leave it on the "on" position to avoid the issue.

Fantastic deal. Had a single M-10 V2 that hit hard but was too small for a 4500cu ft room. Wondering if 2 of these would be sufficient or just get 2 M-12s.
Using more than 1 sub isn't about louder bass, unless you plan on setting them directly beside each other.

Multiple subs is about strategically placing them across the room from each other to eliminate peaks and dips due to bass "modes" and getting even bass response in more seats.

Some people even notice a reduction in some bass frequencies when using multiple subs because a room resonance peak was eliminated.

Well that's a blanket statement, not sure it's that simple.
Especially when you consider improper implementation/placement of two subs can give worse SQ also.

This big a footprint in a small room limits placement which can cause a challenge for proper placement.

If that's not someone's belief then going to 12" driver which would take up just about the same area/footprint most likely will give you better SQ.

I agree identical subs is ideal and easier to implement.

I'd say more often than not, running the room correction software on the receiver is going to compensate better for duals than singles. And what you're saying is more of a best practice but also from what I've seen, rare practice in getting a single sub placed perfectly. Most people prioritize furniture placement, aesthetics, room flow and cord management over perfect sub placement. So I'm not saying you're wrong, but that most people aren't going to follow the SQ rules of placement.

How are these compared to SVS? Or any monoprice sub compared to SVS? Thanks.

I would disagree:
I can properly setup one sub much easier than two.
What a second sub adds(when properly implemented), it spreads the SQ I had for a wider seating area.

Room correction does not fix room acoustics/environment/placement issues.

If you are after the best SQ, "best practice" fix room acoustics/environment then proper placement.

I do agree, people often compromise over best practice because of the reasons(and more) you mentioned.

Can't tell how many times I found the best placement and then find out later it was moved(pick the reason) and sounded just as good! 🤷🏻 ♂️
