I think this deal makes more sense if you have two separate usages where one good quality 10" would be enough for each room, maybe split an order with a buddy or a "regular" person being happy with a living room and basement pair in one shot. But then you've still got a lot of options to consider around $400 per sub.
A room big enough to need a pair of 10" subs would likely be better suited to larger subs to start. It's not like these are a compact 10" model or anything like that. Once you are ok with big boxes in the room you might as well go all in with larger drivers.
All in all subs are always a tough choice. I just struggle thinking where two of these at $800 would be the best choice for one room.

For an alternative RSL has blemished Speedwoofer 10S MKIIs in white available for $399. It let me add a pair to my cart and no tax in GA. I emailed about these and these are factory cosmetic blemished not returns. Final sale no returns but carry the full warranty.

The wireless option for $50 extra seems nice. I ordered one in black and I should have it Friday.

Far as the amplifier stuff goes honestly plate amps all kind of suck, so I lean pretty heavily on the vendor being reputable and what the warranty length is. But if these are known to be problematic it's worth considering as well, because paying for a new replacement amp out of pocket is rarely worth it.
The good price comes with a big gamble, if you get a good one count your blessings.
If the capability of this sub falls under what someone needs/wants, with proper implementation you can be satisfied.
Frank&beans has a good point though.
Proper placement is critical for that implementation.
With this big of a footprint, a larger driver with similar size footprint may be a better option.
If you want a big sub, you'd almost certainly be better off going for the 15" over the pair of 10's.

Not trying to be argumentative or cause any arguments. Just spreading awareness of the issues.
I think Monolith has sold a LOT of subs and have a lot of satisfied customers
I am willing to bet that the people that actually had issues is a very small percentage of the total
I own four Monolith subs and never had an issue
Multiple subs is about strategically placing them across the room from each other to eliminate peaks and dips due to bass "modes" and getting even bass response in more seats.
Some people even notice a reduction in some bass frequencies when using multiple subs because a room resonance peak was eliminated.

Especially when you consider improper implementation/placement of two subs can give worse SQ also.
This big a footprint in a small room limits placement which can cause a challenge for proper placement.
If that's not someone's belief then going to 12" driver which would take up just about the same area/footprint most likely will give you better SQ.
I agree identical subs is ideal and easier to implement.

I can properly setup one sub much easier than two.
What a second sub adds(when properly implemented), it spreads the SQ I had for a wider seating area.
Room correction does not fix room acoustics/environment/placement issues.
If you are after the best SQ, "best practice" fix room acoustics/environment then proper placement.
I do agree, people often compromise over best practice because of the reasons(and more) you mentioned.
Can't tell how many times I found the best placement and then find out later it was moved(pick the reason) and sounded just as good! 🤷🏻 ♂️
