Flip4 trade in is $900, looks like those who got the free upgrade from the 3 to the 4 are about to get another one.

I want to say I paid $300 outright for the Z Flip 3 (https://slickdeals.net/f/15932245-128gb-samsung-galaxy-z-flip3-5g-smartphone-for-verizon-phantom-black-300-free-s-h-activation-needed?v=1&src=SiteSearch)

Then got the Z Flip 4 for $100 (https://slickdeals.net/f/15968395-pre-order-samsung-galaxy-z-fold-4-or-z-flip-4-trade-in-offer-up-to-900-off-memory-upgrade?src=SiteSearch)

Then now the Z Flip 5 for $50.

I was able to sell my S21 at the time for like $180, so wasn't much out of pocket for a 2 generation newer phone at the time. Good luck with your decision.
Oh nice, too bad there aren't many deals on the Z Flip 4 now so I can get that and then pay $100 extra to get the Z Flip 5.

Anyone know if you can trade in a VZ phone that is still on payment plan to Samsung? I just chatted with vz rep and they said you can't trade in a phone on payment plan.

PS: VZ trade in offer is better than samsung. They're offering $1000 for a 2019 note 10+. Samsung is only giving $300 for it.

edit: samsung customer rep said I can trade it in as long as I keep the account on vz paying on the old phone. Also found this thread on vz forums that confirms:

https://community.verizon.com/t5/...-p/1197617 [verizon.com]
Funny thing. Note 10+ from 2019 was so good, that can be easily compared to S23 Ultra. Of course CPU and memory are bit faster and screen is brighter today, but still same 256 GB memory, 12 GB RAM, screen resolution (almost).. And Note 10+ has micro SD slot.

Bit surprised to see the number of people talking about trading in S22 and S23 ultras. This seems like a downgrade at worst, side grade at best so unless your phone is crapping out or you just really like the form factor of this device..someone enlighten me why this makes sense?

I have a S22 ultra with a charging issue I had planned to replace with a S23U but trade-in deal for this still sucks so I'm genuinely curious. The (what seems like) lesser camera on these is what is holding me back the most since I use my phone for on the go semi pro photography as a side hobby.

I've traded in most of my Samsung devices, but the Note 10 Plus is special. That device just worked well, and I never traded that in. The S23 Ultra is very smiliar. I still pre-ordered this Flip 5, as the trade-in price for a Flip 4 is absurd.

I was one of those people, but I came to my senses this morning and cancelled my pre-order. The $1000 TIV I think is what enticed me most, and I've always liked the idea of the Fold with having a tablet in my pocket. I had the original Flip and used that for a year, I came to the conclusion it wasn't for me and got my S22 Ultra when Best Buy had that super awesome trade-in program last year. Always wanted to try daily driving the Fold though, since you have that glass screen on the front for regular use stuff. That all said, the Folds depreciate in value faster than the S series it seems. I love my S22 Ultra, I just wish it was a little smaller. Samsung's phone releases this year was really disappointing, only very marginal upgrades.

Also looking at the Pixel Fold, I'm hoping Samsung copies Google by using that aspect ratio, as it is so much better both in folded and unfolded mode.

Well I mean $1000 is more than you're going to get on the used market and if you want the 5 Fold anyway, makes sense to me.

But if someone really wanted the Fold then the 4 was $800 recently on FI with 3-4 month commitment, can't remember exactly, but that was definitely the way to go.

I have the S23 Ultra and def not changing. Reviewers complain about the skinny front screen and when they use the Pixel Fold, they talk about how they love it so much and hardly ever open the phone anyway. Like VR, there's no "killer app" for a folding phone unless you love looking at excel spreadsheets or something like Linus.

BB only accepts trade-ins if you buy directly from them.

Have you had previous online Google Pay purchases successfully provide the 5% cashback with Discover? The terms seem to explicitly say Google Pay is in store only which would be annoying.
I havent checked but the terms you quotes mention both "...some online purchases and some in-store purchases..."

Yea, the last great Fold deals were the Fold4 - think I made $2-3k on orders back then. Even so, with the Fold5 - say you wanted to upgrade from the Flip4, you could do so for likely less than $250, which isn't too bad (after EPP % off, $50 back, reselling bundled items [watch, tablet, budsx2]).

Tested Fold4 for 5 months last year and dumped it for S23U. 1 handed phones are just superior for most people and Fold's are simply too cumbersome IMO. I didn't enjoy using the front screen on the Fold at all and frequently had lag when trying to play simple games like Boggle (had some heat issues with this as well). S21U has still been IMO the best phone of the past 4 years for Samsung (albeit video and camera are starting to greatly improve).

I upgraded some family member's phones last year and had spare S22+ I was waiting to trade in (couldn't with shite S23U deals). Just traded in for Flip5 + S9+ + Watch6 Classic + 2x Buds. Selling the Flip5, my current tab S8U (too big for my tastes), and buds.

I wouldn't say crazy, more like nuts.

Major downgrade, unless you want a small phone.

You would be dumb not to upgrade a 128gb or 256gb flip4 to a 512gb flip5 for $50.
