Flip4 trade in is $900, looks like those who got the free upgrade from the 3 to the 4 are about to get another one.

I have the S22U too. The image quality isn't as bad as you say.

Here's a blind test with the fold 4 vs s22u, and it performed really well. The fold 5 is even better:

I took pictures on the Fold 5, when onto google photos on my PC and the pics are blurry.

The pics from my S22U are perfectly clear even when zooming. I even made sure to select 50MP when taking pics on the fold5.

The tech is not there yet.

When the Fold4 was directly compared to S22U and iPhone in the camera department, the Fold4 held it's own for the most part. The zoom clarity obviously sticks out the most with the S22U, and better night time shits, but the Fold4 was still not far behind. Saying "horrendous" seems a bit extreme. Also, the Fold 5 is definitely the most refined and mature foldable out there, and feels very premium. I don't understand how anyone can say that it feels clunky with the hardware or the software. Ever since the Fold 2, I personally can't ever see myself going back to a boring slab of a phone, but to each their own. At least you tried it out.
The picture quality is no where near the S22 Ultra. I compared pics I took with both.

And its absolutely clunky compared to holding a S22U lol. The Fold5 is nice but the tech just aint there yet.

I hope Samsung doesnt play games with my return. I only opened the case and the phone. I never opened the watch or buds. We shall see.

Coming down to the wire before this ends. No time left to try and hit up multiple reps for a stackable code... don't suppose any one else has an extra they won't use? The ones posted here have all been grabbed already

They will boost TIV by $50-$100 in next two weeks, better deal is coming (based on past launch history).

You think there'll be a better trade in than getting $900 for my Flip 4?

900 is the top for Flip 4. For the lower ones, such as Flip3, I bet it will be boosted to 750-800.

Is this better than wat BF will offer from carriers? Looking for thoughts from the group.

Vote up if you think it is.
In the past, right around Black Friday, best buy has had the best offer on the phones besides the preorder offers.

Yeah, PP stopped allowing the offer to be saved at some point a while ago for most folks.
Yeah it did but it was working when I put in an order yesterday and now it's not again

Tech is there because it's the same tech as in the S22U, but with better image processing. You just suck at photography.

Just for you, I took two photos in my home office. It's dark here.

Here's the Fold5: https://i.imgur.com/LQGmWxZ.jpg

Here is the S22U: https://i.imgur.com/N6512gQ.jpg

And for comparison, here's my mirrorless Sony camera: https://i.imgur.com/TyWnCNa.jpg

I've been using this Fold 5 for 3-4 days now. Was going to live with it compared to the S22 Ultra but the camera quality on this Fold 5 is horrendous. Its no where compared to the S22U. I started the return process on the phone, case, watch and ear buds. I wanted to like this so much but the experience with the S22U was just so much better. I think they are years away from this technology being a real thing where the phone doesnt feel clunky and camera quality is there compared to other flagship phones at a lower cost.
Hate to break it to ya bud but no manufacturer has figured out how to jam a large area of huge sensor cameras into a foldable yet. The tech is probably going to get incrementally better, or you're going to end up with a bigger foldable if you want similar cameras. The Chinese competition is much thinner, yes, but they're also all wider and or taller. They'd have to get to sammy's thickness to cram better cameras in. Could the fold 5 be thinner? Probably. But it's also a smaller footprint be a lot when fold compared to something like the s22/s23 ultra (the latter of which is coming very close now in weight). By the way, the s22 ultra, while a great phone, has poop speakers and those curved sides from 2017/2018 (speaking as former owner of 21 ultra/s22 ultra/fold 4and current owner of s23 ultra/fold 5).

Thanks bud. This is why it's getting returned. And speakers are fine for me on the s22U. Rather subpar speakers and a superior camera. Foldable tech just ain't there. Not worth the extra coin imo. Back to Samsung it goes! And fyi typing this on my s22U and omg so much better!
