Samsung Trade-In Terms and Conditions [samsung.com]
______________________________
Overview: If Samsung is processing trade-ins like prior deals, you will receive instructions by email--along with a prepaid shipping label--around the time your new phone arrives. You can also print the label from your online Samsung account.
You will send in the phone only (no boxes, chargers, SIMs, cases, etc.). Phone must be factory reset and have no passwords or locks. Good practice: Make a VIDEO and take photos of the phone, including showing some functions, to prove the condition if Samsung challenges you after inspecting the phone. More details....
My phone has scratches [or burn in or faulty Bluetooth or fill in the blank]. Will Samsung accept the phone? Will the trade in amount be reduced? According to the FAQ, "Your device must have no breaks, cracks, or other defects that go beyond normal wear and tear." Is your issue normal wear and tear?
When/how will I get instructions for trading in my phone? Samsung will send you an email with the subject "Welcome to the Samsung Trade-In Program." The email will arrive anywhere from the day the phone ships to a few days after the phone arrives. It includes a link to download a pre-paid shipping label. You have 15 days from receipt of the email to ship the trade in. You can also get the shipping label for the trade in from your online Samsung account under order details.
Two commonly asked questions about financed and leased phones:
1. The device I'm trading in is one that I bought using an equal payment or other financing plan, and I still have payments left on it. Can I still trade it in?
Yes – however, please note that all remaining payments on the device you're trading in are your responsibility. You may also be subject to additional fees. Check with your current carrier for details.
2. lease my device. Can I trade it in?
No – leased devices are not eligible for this Trade-In Promotion unless you purchase the leased device from your carrier before trading it in. Check with your carrier for details.

Summary of top deal suggestions from this thread:
- Get additional $50 off using this pre-order code
- Ask Samsung Chat for a $50 discount code (a unique code that could stack with the pre-order reserve code but seems to have trouble stacking for some people).
I figured out why the additional chat provided unique $50 code only sometimes works. You have to add the watch separately, and not through the phone flow as an add on.
Apply the unique code first, which will apply to the phone. Then add the watch and apply the generic code, which will then apply to the watch.
I also got education pricing without verifying any education information just by clicking thru the education store.
I also got 10% at site 1 and 12% at site 2 to make it sweeter.
Promo Code - CODEHERE $50.00
Promo Code - CODEHERE $50.00
Bundle Discount $576.72
Education Savings $41.56
Promotional Discount(s) $200.00
TradeIn Discount(s) $900.00
Total $354.28
So, ~$350 for Flip5, Watch 6 Classic 47, 2x Buds2 Pro, and a case, minus the ~$75 in cash back equals $275 for all. Nice! - Get additional discounts for education, government, military, business, first responders employees without actually being one by going through Google or just clicking on one of the categories (they don't verify but give you the discount)
- If your birthday is in August and you had it saved in your Samsung profile, you should have gotten or will get an e-mail with an extra $25 off discount which can stack with the above codes
- Add the Samsung Watch 6 separately into the cart and not as a bundle with the phone to get an extra fabric band for free.

It's exactly the same when you do a trade in deal at Best Buy or anywhere else when you live in CA.

I hope you get yours sorted out soon.

However, I made two orders for 4 more watches that were supposed to be delivered by Aug 25, 28 and Sept 1. After two rounds of pushing the dates back, now the dates are Sept 22 for all.

Thanks for letting me know.
Already got my card blocked with the bank. Now Samsung says that they will block the device. After some more contesting this is their reply:
"Here's what we need to do to get this resolved: please allow your bank to authorize the charge and then once successful, we will process it as a form of refund."
I have replied back that NO this is not happening and that the card is already blocked and cannot be used again and why do I do any of this anyway! Samsung may be tricking people to pay and then refuse the refund as per the email that I've received!
I've signed out of the Samsung account on the phone (Reddit comments) and turned it off and kept it in a drawer. Back to my iPhone.
