I have been doing this at least a few times per month for over a decade at multiple stores, and have never had an issue.

Costco can also stock check other Costcos. They'll know the store numbers for the local stores, but they can look up any store in the country at least. If you know a more responsive store just call that one.

Saw deals galore here and elsewhere, and thought I'd be able to find some myself. Once joined, I realized how silly it is to try and replicate any of these deals that get posted. Kind of like the Walmart b&m deals that one person posts, and maybe one other person in the entire country can replicate.
There is no real way to check local stock. Their website is a complete waste of time always.
I'm sure deals can be found if you happen to shop there weekly or more often, and spend an extended amount of time shopping when there, but for me it was a waste of money. I'll stick with my Walmart and Amazon deals.
Spend your money how you want to. Not here to poo-poo anyone that loves Costco or the OP, just to share my wasteful personal experience.
