Sleep comfortably all night long with cooling comfort combined with supportive memory foam found in the Serta Arctic Cooling 2 in. Memory Foam Mattress Topper Powered by REACTEX. This topper is tested to be 30x cooler than standard non-REACTEX products to help you sleep comfortably throughout the night. Products with REACTEX technology feature pressure-activated cooling in approximately 8 seconds as heat is pulled away from the sleeping surface and stored away from the body to help skin temperature reach and maintain the optimal range for sleep. While not in use, the REACTEX technology releases stored heat energy to prepare for the next night's use. This topper combines superior cooling technology in the breathable polyester fabric cover and top layer of memory foam to offer cool relief for hot sleepers. The top layer of cooling memory foam sits atop a layer of support foam to offer pressure-relieving support and add rejuvenating comfort to your bed, while non-skid bottom fabric ensures the topper stays in place night after night. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified to meet rigorous standards for content, emissions and durability, and is analyzed by independent, accredited testing laboratories. Color: White.

Never had a topper before but I know hotels have them. But if I get this do I need to buy new bed sheets? Are thre bed sheets that cover the topper and the mattress together?
Or do I just put the topper on top of the mattress with a bedsheet on it?

You would put the sheets over the topper and use this as an extension of your mattress.

We bought this a couple of weeks ago and like it pretty well. We had one of the tempurpedic 3 inch toppers from Costco before this, and it was a bit too soft and quite hot in the summer. This mattress topper is much more firm, but so far we are liking it. I wish it was a bit softer , but the cooling feature is amazing. It really does feel cold when you first lay on it. It does warm up, but not nearly as much as the Tempur one.

Thanks for the review, I actually just ordered one and can't wait to try it out.

I've purchased a similar memory foam topper from Home Depot about a year ago, Brookside Brand. It was the raw foam without a cover, but same practical thing.
They're really nice to have, if and only if you like the feel and consistency of memory foam. Go to a local mattress store or Ikea, and try out something with memory foam. It's a totally different feel than a normal spring mattress with a traditional pillowtop.
One thing to note -- your sheets -may- not entirely fit. My mattress was already a thicker one normally ("deep pocket" they're sometimes called). It could just -barely- fit a normal sheet for that size, depending on the cut. With the 3" topper, I had no choice but to size up my sheets (Full to Queen, for example). Queen sheets just fit now on a Full mattress.
But if I had a normal mattress + 2" topper, I'd probably be fine with normally sized sheets. Your results may vary.
Is this thick enough to sleep on it without a mattress? I need an extra mattress now. It would be put on the floor, without a frame.
You could but it wouldn't be very comfortable unless you are comfortable sleeping on the floor. It's not going to give much padding but would be better than nothing.

However, there is a very expensive product called eight sleep that can regulate the bed temperature that does actually exist.
