I don't think the 5g version does mmwave. 5g is otherwise using THE SAME frequencies as 4g.

In other words, the same spectrum as LTE was in most cases. The millimeter wave 5g is still very limited.

All that said yeah the 5g version of this phone is better. This one's just ok and the price isn't bad.

Side note, they're huge phones. Literally about as much screen as a Nintendo switch. About as big a device minus the controllers.

I actually ran Wi-Fi networks back in those days and microwave ovens did emit enough broad spectrum interference to knock out some Wi-Fi devices in the 2.4 range. This was not from being on the same power circuit as you suggest. It was an observable effect that could be seen using a wireless spectrum analyzer.

I have the option to upgrade to the g stylus 5g 2023 for the same price on Google Fi, which by many accounts is better, BUT the that version only has 4gb of RAM, while this phone has 6gb. I don't really care about 5g connectivity, 4g has worked fine for me for years, so I'm wondering which is better long term: slower processor with more RAM, or faster processor with less RAM?

5G has gone though safety tests. 5G radiation IS safe as long as you keep your 5G phone 8 inches away from your body at all times, which how the safety standards tests were conducted. At 8 inches you are within the safety standards.

I like Motorola phones, but the 2022 stylus 5G speaker SUCKS. My previous model had stereo/dual speakers and sounded great. This only has the one and sounds horrible.

Just my $.02 if anyone is looking at the stylus 2022. I have the 5G version so I'm not sure if that also applies to the non-5G version.
