Buy these types of machine from Amazon, even if they are a bit more expensive. You may need to return one and Amazon makes it a whole lot easier. I'd post links but SD mods would just delete them.

I bought a mini PC from alixpress with Intel N95, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD for $78. It has slower RAM and only one NIC but double RAM and SSD that aren't soldered on. Prices seem to be going down.

Since it has dual ethernet ports, would this be a good candidate for DIY router like pfsense or opnsense?

Can't find any info on the WiFi chip listed in the specs. Does it even have WiFi? Or is it Ethernet only?

bought this as a htpc, but for some reason i cant enable HDR on my LG OLED (windows 11) ... will probably return

click enable -> it flickers for a second -> disables itself

Yes, note that the NICs are realtek, which will work better with opnsense.

Opn/Pfsense both based on FreeBSD.. AFAIK the FreeBSD kernel isn't the best on Realtek drivers for running 24/7 traffic filtering etc.. Linux based routers/Firewalls should fare better

I bought this I think the first time it was advertised on slickdeals and to my surprise and a few others' it had twice the RAM and Persistent Storage at 16 and 512 respectively. I convinced my dad to buy it when it was even cheaper, but his just came and it was 8 and 256.
