The Ryobi PCL265 is probably the best bang for your buck in impact wrenches. I bought it with free tool deal, so the impact wrench, 4ah battery and charger was like $50 out of pocket. https://slickdeals.net/f/16562770-ryobi-one-18v-cordless-1-2-impact-wrench-kit-choice-of-one-ryobi-power-tool-99-free-s-h?src=SiteSearch

The P265 has max breakaway torque of 350 ft /lbs.

The Ryobi P261 is an old model and it's torque is closer to 200 ft/lbs in reality. This Kobalt is 200ish also.
You can see all the torque numbers in a chart at the 9:30 mark in this video from the Torque Test Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JcATMLjRpY&t=2s

Here's a video of this $59 Kobalt KCW- 5024 being tested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O...yPQ&t=207s

I bought the P261 like 10 years ago. It was fine for what it is . Impact wrenches have just gotten a lot better since then.

I returned this yesterday, after having it for two weeks. Was barely able to take lug nuts off, but I had hopes. Yesterday, it couldn't take off a bolt that holds a caliper on. Bought a ryobi P261 for $91. The Kobalt only had 150 lbs of torque. Not useful for much. The Ryobi has 300 lbs of torque. Enough for most diy jobs.

I have the 1/4" max impact driver with 150 ft/lbs. Would this be worth it if I do medium car maintenance? 1/2 ton truck lug nuts, for example

Maybe not? I have I think the 1/2" model and it works fine for my kia soul wife's sienna mini van, but I torque them with a bendy bar for ~90ft-lbs. I do want their right angle impact.
