Is this a curved monitor? It says it is on the description on Newegg but it doesn't looked curved in the pictures

Nope, not curved. I have this monitor. Nice purple line on the screen. Gigabyte RMA is garbo so tried replacing but didn't happen. Other than the line of bad pixels it's ok. On a positive note it's got a pretty bright screen.

I think this monitor is the one that's notorious for bad text clarity due to the subpixel layout

Very problematic monitor. Read the reviews. I got black horizontal lines on that monitor in less then a year. Dealing with Gigabyte warranty service was a huge pain. They fixed it but I had to pay for shipping(32 dollars) and box (20 dollars). I would not buy it again.
