If you have an older AM4 board check if it supports this and update the bios before switching. Great 8 core CPU, energy efficient and fast! Really amazing how long the AM4 platform lasted.

I bought this and had my drivers updated to the 2nd or third bios update post 5000 series. I'd recommend if you get this to update your bios to the newest update if your motherboard supports this.
Just bought this on Amazon 2 days ago for $197. Should be here tomorrow. Should I return and buy this one? This is my 1st build and doing it for me and my 11 yr old son. We're slowly but surely buying all the parts we need to build our PC but on a budget.
Edit: Should mention at the moment I currently have: NZXT H5 ELITE Case, MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK AMD Motherboard, GameMax 80+ Gold 850W Power Supply, and ordering the Corsair Vengeance PRO (2X16gb) RAM tonight. That's all we have for now.

I would advise against H5 Elite. I have it as well. It does look nice but the top grill is cheaply made so it creates annoying humming/vibration noise from top mounted fans at certain fan speeds. If you are going to install a top mounted AIO, this may not be an issue.
