This specific motherboard is deceptive in name and does not actually have a b550 chipset, despite the name.

A normal B550 motherboard can overclock the processor. I'm not saying that it is a bad motherboard. Just to make people aware. Realistically, most people will be fine with it... Your cpu will act normal, with turbo, etc... You just can't overclock it.

Scroll to the bottom and check the chipset info for overclocking.

Both of these boards don't have a USB-C front header so if your case has USBC, you won't be able to use it.

The $35 Promo code should be right on the 5700x page and should automatically add in cart but if you aren't seeing it, BFFDYA869 is the promo code. Not sure how long this will last?

I'm not seeing the $199.98 price. My combo with the 550M SE comes out to $215.48. My combo discount was $15. How do you get the extra $15.50 discount?

Double check and make sure you're picking the B550M SE shipped and sold by newegg? The B550M SE should be $69.99. The 5700x has a $35 off with promo code BFFDYA869 (which should automatically be added in cart) and then you should also see a combo up savings of $15 on the processor when both items are in your cart. I used the B550 PRO4 in my cart but it works for both when I try it.

My bad! I overlooked that the tax was applied in my price.

"ASRock B550M Pro SE... while marketed as a B550 chipset, it actually uses AMD's Pro565, which does not support overclocking."

So no PBO.

Thanks!
I had ordered a Ryzen 7 5700X and G.SKILL Ripjaws V 2x16 (3,200) yesterday through an Amazon sale on the CPU. This seems like a better deal. I have a decent mobo and didn't want to replace that at this time.
Price from 130 + 51 to $155 for both. Slower ship time, but some savings.

Is that for both boards or just one? And since you seem knowledgeable, can you explain the difference between the boards? I did a side by side comparison but it's not clear which board is better?

Well, I was waiting for the $141 5700X with free 32GB DDR4 supposed to start on 11/21. But with this one I can get the same for $4 more. So I just took the 5700X with free 32GB DDR4 with $35 discount, final price is $144.99 with free shipping. I already got an AM4 mobo and this will be perfect for a cheapo update.

That's only true for the Pro SE motherboard. PRO4 has a B550 chip.

Here are links to specs for each board directly from ASRock's website.

Seems like the PRO4 is superior.

The Montech X3 Mesh for $50-60 off that big online store.
It has 6 fans, moves a ton of air, but won't sync with your RGB and has other limitations making it a solid performance/price combo for cheap builds.
