This used to be my endgame printer, but these days I'm pining after a Bambu Lab
I had the same feelings. The smaller build volume, lack of An AMS, and iffy threads on Reddit made me go for the Bambu. At this price point, I think the P1P is the better value. Not to mention the new P1S option. I caved in and got the X1C and have no regrets.

Same. Granted if the anker printer was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper I would have bit the bullet.
I recently got the MP voxel pro for like $225 shipped. Not the best but for the price, really really slick deal.
I have this printer and can't say I have any complaints*, but yeah, with the P1P being only $40 more and the P1S another $100 beyond that, I don't really see this as much of a deal. You'd probably even be better off just getting the new Ankermake M5C at $399 (or less with various discounts).
Anker is planning an AMS for release soon, but I'm leery that it'll end up being kind of a janky bolted-on implementation compared to Bambu's.
EDIT: Well, one complaint: the "AI error detection" is completely useless right now, but I haven't really missed it.

I've had this printer since release and recent bought a Bambu P1P. The simplicity of the Ankermake is fantastic. Built in camera/light and the mobile app has worked really well for me. Both have great leveling features and the print resolution has been equal as well. For an experienced printer that cares about speed of printer, definitely get the Bambu. For those who print maybe once or twice a week with no rush, I really like the Ankermake.

lol...
yup, i started with my eye on the P1P and convinced myself all the way up to the X1C as well. it's so damn nice and does everything. the AMS is quite nice to have as well.
I bought the AnkerMake M5 3 weeks ago for 499.99 Amazon/Anker "refurbished" is the Bambu worth the extra $100? If so why? I have not yet taken it out of the box.

Yes, I would return it ASAP and get at least P1P. P1P is much faster, has better support/software and you can print with multiple colors if you get an AMS.

Absolutely terrible experience with BL myself. Cannot recommend at all. Go with a more grounded brand, maybe one with less problematic data collection policies

Return it. The P1P is miles ahead of this. Definitely worth the money.
