I definitely wouldn't go as far as to call this printer obsolete, but it's probably the last printer I'd pay $650 for with everything that's been hitting or is about to hit the market.

Would you mind listing some that you are referring to? A lot of Top X lists have this one on it. Seems like a slick deal. Especially with the new firmware bumping it to 500mm/sec.

i agree.

competition is the key here.

bambu p1p for the same price or cheaper, eventually, blows this away.

i print for online sales and the ankermaker is way too expensive for what it lacks, not to mention a few downfalls you wouldnt get with similar or cheaper models/

one of the funniest design flaws is the GUI screen is vertical 180* facing and moves with the x gantry...uh what...

many people have their machines high on a shelf or low below somewhere to save space. you will not be able to control the analog touch screen unless you get a stool or lay down.

that is insanely silly overlook as if anker 3d team doesn't use 3d printers in the real world themselves, and im not trying to sound dramatic either.. any one who has used a printer for more than a week would realize you need proper viewing angle on the screen lol

Someone has already mentioned the Bambu. There's also the FLSUN V400, which goes on sale often enough to be in this price bracket. Also the Creality k1 which I'd pick over the Bambu since it runs on Klipper and doesn't ask for your stool sample every time it's turned on.

I'm probably forgetting something else, but those three is enough to make the Anker irrelevant unless it decides to compete in the under $400 category, which is what I see in its future.

i think the k1 standalone is amazing and would consider one myself.

thing is, the bambu's proprietary automatic multi color is something of the next generation printers that the k1 is sadly lacking.
i think this alone adds much more value than the $100 price difference.

i have plenty of creality printers, none with automatic multi color system. not only does it already serve its main purpose of multi colors, it also acts as a storage for the many extra filament rolls within its an enclosed system. not humidity controlled but still protects from many elements.

but yeah, im willing to bet this anker will hit 400's on a sale soon given its competition. i mean many of us get our creality printers at 50%+ off

For what it's worth, Microcenter price matched the FLSun v400 for $749. For a little more than this Ankermate M5, it's leaps and bounds better and running Klipper. Suggest a pass on the Ankermate
