If you purchase open box Lenovo you can contact them and have them update the warranty as long as you have your receipt. Had no issues with this when I purchased my last Lenovo.

i do see that but per lenovo's webpage, this puppy is 350-nit, 165hz. i'd probably trust lenovo over what bby's page says.

Umm...it says 500 nits on the "Overview" page.

16" WUXGA 165Hz Display
The 240Hz ultra bright 500 nits display features a 16:10 2560 x 1600 resolution that gives you more space for toolbars and tabs.
This laptop is 1900x1200 350nits, the higher resolution one is 500nits.

Never bought an open box from Best Buy. Can I return immediately if the condition is not satisfactory? Thanks for answering.

Sure but you also get standard 1 year warranty even with open box and also add Lenovo warranty for 3 years it's like $180 and covers damages etc.

350 is usually more than you need. I have a 500 nit model and never go full bright.

Yes, you can return it. I returned a different open-box Lenovo 4 days after purchase.

There's one near me and i am tempted to replace my 17" omen with it. The omen is mostly nice but the charger/charging port is a seriously poor design. It has a 140w 3060 though. I'll have to check to see how much of a difference there is.
Same boat, I really like my omen 17", but mine is older with a 1070, It would be around 30-35% boost for.me... But worth the upgrade $?

I actually picked up an Open Box Excellent on Wednesday. They started this 3 day anniversary sale yesterday night and Best buy would not allow me to do a price adjustment, so I ended up picking up an open box fair model that was basically brand new no box, with a 30 battery cycle count.

Unfortunately, theres only 3 months left on the warranty when I checked, but there's an option to correct the purchase date, so I'm going to try my luck to see if they'll extend it for the full year for me.

If any of you are interested, here's the link https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/e...y-lookup#/
Good looking out with that link. I purchased a IdeaPad 3 a few weeks back in another sale open box and need to go about getting the warranty corrected too.

Would it better to purchase this local in satisfactory condition or drive an hour to get it in excellent condition for $20 more?

I just purchased the omen with the 4050 in excellent open box for $612. It's just too bulky and the and the i5 stutters too much.
make sure you put the Lenovos in performance mode (red ring) not the battery saver mode (blue ring, quite mode) which cripples the GPU + CPU. White ring auto mode is ok, but when I want unrestricted performance I put it in red mode. Fn + Q toggles the 3 power states.

typing on my Legion Slim 7i right now. Open Box Excellent at Christmas for $999 which was a great deal at the time. This price even better! Get the i7 version with the RTX 3060 GPU and 16GB ram.

So you can never have full double data rate on the RAM with anything over 16GB of ram. This board should support at least 64GB, but you'll be limited to at most 40GB, because it's soldered. This is one reason why performance hardware shouldn't be slim. The other big reason is the internals won't be cooled properly and it'll be hotter to the touch than a comparable non slim model.

Is this worth the fair price of $719? There's one about an hour from me. Thinking about picking it up.

Is open box satisfactory decent? Because excellent is out of stock for me. And is this good even if I don't plan on playing many games? But mainly doing variety activities for my business.
