Great watch, yes, but it is three years old. The Venu 3 will likely come out soon.

With Garmin's operating model, I wouldn't expect any real feature updates or activity profiles on a watch this old. The profiles and features on it currently are great for the average user, regardless. Not as feature rich for dedicated runners, but otherwise quite good.

But it is a very solid watch, used it for two years before the screen died and I moved on.

Agree, great watch overall. The battery life is great! I have the Venu 2 Plus; the Plus doesn't mean bigger screen or anything, the 'plus' is because it has more aka plus features like the middle right button, speaker & mic.
- I know this post is for the Venu 2 watch, but wanted to mention what all the 'Plus' is. Fantastic watches though! The touch screen is great and battery life is 5 to 9 days!

Good point. Also - this Venu watch is better than the Vivoactive 4 and of course the V3. Just wanted to mention this b/c this price is fantastic.

i have the vivoactive 3, which i really like, but the battery is really starting to go.

Is this Venu worth buying or should i go with a newer model? I really just need a good battery life, I don't use a ton of features.

Personally, I would wait for the Venu 3 to come out, then see what kind of deal you can get on the Venu 2. Garmin only updates their watches every couple of years and then the previous model is often half price.

Looks like a god enough price to me. I'm getting one. I don't seem to see a lot of killer deals on workout smart watches.

Can this be used to run the Garmin golf app instead of getting a golf specific Garmin watch?

Google pay, no. But it does have Garmin pay - see here https://www.garmin.com/en-US/garminpay/banks/
