With Garmin's operating model, I wouldn't expect any real feature updates or activity profiles on a watch this old. The profiles and features on it currently are great for the average user, regardless. Not as feature rich for dedicated runners, but otherwise quite good.
But it is a very solid watch, used it for two years before the screen died and I moved on.

It has Garmin pay which is fantastic! You put your pin code in - for your CCs to show up & it'll stay available for 24 hours unless you take your watch off. If you're using the heart monitor, which 99% are; that's how the watch knows if you take it off and makes it secure so that you don't have to put in your pin in all day long if you're out shopping etc & using Garmin Pay.
