Starting to learn the country of origin doesn't mean as much these days. If course when purchasing a $200-500 dollar guitar from any country the guild quality isn't going to be great. Matter of time allowed for each build that keeps costs down. However the $800 plus list price guitars from China, Indonesia etc I've had hands on coming in for setups ,mods etc have been surprisingly good. Not to long ago had a Indonesian made Supro that was approximately 5 yrs old. Remember when they came out everyone went nuts saying how overpriced they were at $999. List. Thought the same myself, until having a good look at it outside and in , playing it too. Was amazed how good it was. Frets were excellent, didn't find one raised or lowered one and the fret ends were the same. Was a very nice guitar. Same goes for the higher end Epiphones made in China now. They're quite good.

As for this model ,have had two in to work on. One for complete setup and string change and one for upgrading to locking tuners and upgrading the pots, cap and some modified wiring. Again both were surprisingly well built and much nicer guitars than what one would think being built in Indonesia. Very nice looking in person too. Way better then the pics show.
You're living in the past. Indonesian made guitars have been great for over a decade. Besides Fender, several companies known for their excellent quality control such as PRS, ESP, and Yamaha have moved production to Indonesia.
Shut up, dude. These are great guitars. You clearly don't know what you're taking about, and you're just parroting the usual anti "any country other than America" Fender nonsense.

This Fender model never made sense to me. The MIK "Rat Rod" Gretsch on Adorama for $500 is a way better deal IMHO

can't imagine paying this for a Mexican Fender let alone an Indonesian. hard pass.

edit: did not realize they come with legit Seymour Duncan pickups.. that definitely adds to the value, but unfortunately the craftsmanship still may be lackluster.
This guitar is much better than the MIM Fenders. I've tried to get this twice before but they were damaged on arrival. If you get a good one, they are amazing!

I bought this guitar when it was released 98 (or something close) made in Korea. One of my favorites due to the weight, neck, sound and action. Even if it's not a collector piece I always pick it up. Have gone through a bunch of guitars but never wanted to sell this. Looks and sounds way above its pay grade.

While I wasn't impressed with the one I had, you're living in 2002 prices.

What do you know about this model? Nothing. Not one thing other than where it is produced. Please don't embarrass yourself by making bold statements about the quality of item you know absolutely nothing about.

You don't remember when these came out, because Fender has been making them (first in South Korea, then Indonesia in the same factory that makes Squier branded Fenders) 20 years ago. I bought mine in 2014 and it was no where near $1000. Thankfully mine had Dimarzio rather than shitty, overrated SD pickups. The only offered the DiMarzio model for 5-7 years, but it is otherwise identical to these and they have offered an SD-outfitted model since at least 2003. GREAT lightweight guitar with a set neck and a flat quick fretboard.

A Player Tele is no match for this set-neck beauty with SD pickups. You are living in a fantasy world if you think that $500 Fender is comparable.
