Are there any intelligent reviews of this (and not just "Amazon dropped the box so Epson and all printers suck")

How frequently does it need to be used to prevent the ink from drying out?

As someone who has used Epson inkject printers (an all inject printers for that matter) in the past, avoid them. I had one off of SD once (no this model and it was years ago) and the thing clogged up within 3 months of use.

Find a decent color laser printer (buy once, cry once) if you want to print color. I have the Dell C1660 and only use it a few times a year. Toner is stupid cheap as well.

For photo printing just use an online service and have them mailed to you.

My ink tank had this problem but I was printing once every couple of months. Going to try a laser printer now

I'm not sure which printers that applies too, but I have an Epson Ecotank ET-3750.

First print date: 2018-01-20
Total pages: 10972

It's still going strong.

The printer isn't perfect (the UI isn't so great), but it prints properly every time. It's the best printer we've ever owned, and the only one that's survived more than a few years.
ET-2720, I have burned through less than 3K pages, but had to flush ink many times due to clogging and already have the ink pad warning. Epson allows one reset and now I am just waiting for my printer to be bricked again, 3 years after the purchase.

Needs to be used at least twice a week. Same as all ink jets.

Does anyone know if I have to buy official ink or can I use off brand ones to refill it? Thank you
I have used generic refills from Amazon. They work fine so far.

If I use this in my classroom and print anything the kids want, they will replace ink for 2 years? If so, I'm not worried about it drying out because that's basically every day.

Also, my Chase CCs have a 5% Cashback (limit $100 back) but not sure if it applies, because the thumbnail for the promo mentions Intel processors. But the description just says "all Dell purchases."

Someone came out with a hack for the old epson cartridge printers. He redirected the drainage hose outside away from the pad and had a reset code good for multiple resets. Maybe someone will come out for one for the Ecotank printers.

When buying Epson ink tanks, know that Epson design them to be used for only about 2 years https://www.theregister.com/2022/...n_ink_pad/
Still the scummiest printer brand. I will never ever buy an Epson again.

Monthly Duty Cycle (max)
3000 pages
Recommended Monthly Volume
600 pages

So I guess if you don't fall within this range, don't buy. I only print 500 pages a year.
