I don't have any dewalt tools. But I don't feel like buying this because of having a single battery and charger. Anyone know if you can use an adapter on this to use Milwaukee or Ryobi batteries?

Actually, I can confirm that it is "hackable" at Home Depot, contrary to your belief. I purchased the drywall screw gun with the free battery starter kit yesterday and returned the battery starter kit today, leaving me with a $94.80 drywall screw gun. So there you go folks, don't believe everything you read on the Internet :-)

A drywall gun is pressure activated so there's no need to pull or release the trigger. Just load the screw and when the tip gets pushed into the sheetrock, the drill starts spinning and then stops at the correct depth. It may be a small thing if you're only hanging a single piece, but if you're doing a whole room or whole house, that little difference is game changing.
