Too Much to read before you spend $4000? Your loss..

I saw 2 EV Mowers at my Costco In fact that is the only mowers they had in the store. Seemed to be of high quality, but that was based on looks. You tube has had folks reviewing these. Most complaints are about the batteries. I worry about durability. These are still to new to say if they are as durable or even close.

Oh, COSTCO! Cosco is a separate company…

Of course that's not always the same for all. I've had there normal ride on mower for 3 years bow and the batteries have been great. The drive motor died year one and had to be replaced though
Then with all due respect, you are in the lucky minority. Whether you are not discharging very far/very often or just got a boss sample, 3 years of repeated deep discharge for Lead-acid is beyond their expected lifetime.

Do a bigbattery dot com lithium battery swap for $1500 and you'll be able to mow for days! Did it on my folks' golf cart and it can go 30+mi on single charge.

Thanks for this comment. I have a Son with a disability. I am looking for a electric golf cart for him, can you suggest a model? Thanks in advance

An "investment" is an outlay of money for income or profit. Perhaps you just meant "price," or are you shorting mower stock?

Maybe he did intended to profit from it. Do people not lose money on investments?

The lawnmower is OK, but the batteries are terrible. I don't see how anyone gets years out of these outside of sheer luck.

I have a 2020 model I bought in 2022 with 20 hours. It has less than 60 hours now and the batteries won't more 1/4 acre. Fortunately I only paid $1200 for it used so the $1000 lifepo4 upgrade won't be as bad, but if I paid $3500 for this I would be very irritated.

I'm on year 5 on the original lead acid batteries. I'll swap to lifepo when they die. I've liked mine so much, I got a second for my parent's house. Take care of the batteries and they will last. Never discharge below 50 percent. These mowers are easy to work on and don't use overpriced proprietary batteries. They are golf carts with mower blades.

This thing used lead acid batteries. Only lasts an year or 2 according to the reviews.

I've had my ryobi riding mower (480ex) for 4 years, batteries are still perfect as far as I can tell. I keep it on the charger and never run below 60%

I'm on year 4 batteries still like new. Don't drain below 50% and disconnect charger after charging is complete. Then charge again right before you want to mow again. Recharge as soon as you are done mowing. Simple.
Agree! Your routine sounds best! Odd people get vastly different life out of the batteries. I wonder if it has a poor/old school charger that hurts the battery for it to be on for days. Or if they are starter batteries when they should be deep cycle. Vastly different environments too, some people keep them outside or in the summer heat. Expect to get 3-4 years out of a lead acid in hot climates (Florida) and 7-8 years in the north. I drive an EV and this appears the same that it isn't for the masses. Mainly for people who are willing to do the extra steps.

I have around half an acre so I use about 1/2 the batter every time out. No issues so far with depleted life. I always go straight into the garage and back on the plug where it sits until the next week or two for the next mow.

Someone explain.

You can get a led acid battery for a couple hundred or less that is not proprietary. Versus having to be locked in to the "system" so why does everyone hate on this model..
Logic is often lost on these threads - I have 100+ hours on mine it's 4 plus years old if and when the battery dies I will do the LiFe conversion
