As someone who has been poor/cheap enough to buy some of these Compleats at a Dollar General in my 20s: these are terrible, even for depression food. Tasteless mush of carbs and salt. You're better off at McDonalds.

In the interest of beating the sodium police and captain obvious, the sodium content is high; 990mg in total, 43% of your daily value.

No one cares, people can read. Furthermore, it's assumed the sodium content is high given the product. On the brightside, you still have 57% of sodium to consume for the day 👍

Yes, you're eating a salt lick, but that's what gives it a 10 year shelf life.

You had my hopes up here, I was hoping it'd be a decent thing to keep around long term, for emergencies.

These only have a shelf life of 1.5 years.

Sodium content sucks 50% in 350 calorie, but not as much as 50 ingredients with difficult to pronounce names lol.

FYI if you work outside in the heat or sweat a lot at work the sodium doesn't really matter unless you already have hypertension. Just get more potassium otherwise with no salt in place of actual salt

Got this last time and these are decent. It does taste a bit bland.
Add cracked black pepper and/or your fav hot sauce.
With 15% S&S, it's $8.00 so $1.33 each, Walmart has Compleats for $2.36

Also got these last time. The convenience of these is nice. Depending on your job, it may be difficult to take breaks... Even uncertain if or when you can. It's nice to not worry about having to refrigerate or even icepack something. Obviously you still need access to a microwave though. Not super filling but ok as a supplemental thing. Taste is just alright. Wasn't horrible, wasn't amazing.

I'd rather eat cat food. These meals are disgusting.

I bought the chicken alfredo back in April when this deal showed up. It really is salty. Mostly creamy/salty sauce, mushy pasta, and bits of chicken. I still have half the pack. It's pretty much my last option in my pantry of ramen and other quick food options. I'd rather have spam and rice. At least I can add more rice to offset the spam's saltiness. But at $9, you will still buy it to find out for yourself!

Just be careful with the high amount of salt in these. One of my friends spilled a bit on the floor (not much, just a spoonful) in my car. He wiped it up and I didn't really think much of it. The next morning, I went to start my car, and soon as I touched the car it just collapse to the the ground. The entire frame and lot of the other metal components had rusted away into dust.

you would have eaten chicken stored at room temp for several years if they claimed a higher shelf life?

Many years ago I bought a can of HORMEL chili. When I open the can the stench from the "beef" is something I imagine what a decayed corpse smells like.
I'm a frugal person who would chance eating expired food. Yet I dumped this abomination of a meat concoction.
I avoid this brand like the plague. I'm convinced their food is carcinogenic.
