D17 lowest has been 1k, D15 at $800 and the x3800h at 1k.
Last week the D17 deal was at 1800.
There's also a combo which includes a center as well ($2100).
I guess this is more useful for someone looking for a receiver, x3800h is an excellent 9.4 in that aspect. You can offload the speakers but I doubt if it would fetch $700 though.
Note that unlike the BP series (which has the left facing subwoofer) these have left and right tweeter design - meaning, you need to get the left and right floorstanders to make it a pair. I'm not sure if that makes a significant difference though.
Demand series is discontinued now.
B&W, Polk, Definitive, Denon, Marantz and Classe are all owned by a medical device manufacturer based out of Irvine, Masimo. In my opinion, these are some of the best brands and products out there right now.

Thanks, I meant the same but might have come out wrong. Updated original comment.
Definitely look at the $1k x3800 deal that has rotated through (twice). It's awesome. If that's too much receiver, the x2800 has been on sale recently too.

The best way is to buy an apple TV 4k device as the source (anything after the A18xx series is better since they all have airplay 2). Airplay 2 support is there for the receiver but streaming over airplay sends the signals as stereo.
