Been this price for some time, but I'm always happy to see deals called out again. I got one the last time for this price, and didn't bother to "upgrade" to a new one because the one I got seemed to me brand new as is.

I also got the "open box" 2x12 Archon Stealth cab from them, also looks and packaged like brand new, as well as a bunch of their heavily discounted Fender and Squier models. Really liking ProAudioStar.

I think it should be a great guitar. The main difference is that this doesn't come with a piezo pickup. Also, the body is made of mahogany rather than maple and the inlays are perloid, rather than abalone. The difference in wood is mostly cosmetic and shouldn't make any tonal difference once you plug it in. Playing unplugged, it should have a bit of a darker tone than HB II.

Honestly, that's a great price and probably deserves its own thread.

I bought an open box Origin20 from them and there was no way that couldn't have been brand new…everything was still in the factory plastic. I concur, I'm digging PAS

I bought one of these on the last deal (like 3 weeks ago). It comes with hard shell case. The guitar is beautiful and super light. The ebony fretboard plays like butter. The pickups are brighter than what I am used to, but they respond quite well to the slightest volume/tone knob adjustments. They ship via FedEx. I ordered on a Saturday morning and paid for overnight delivery. It didn't ship until Monday night, but arrived next day.

This is a beauty, the stock pics and even some of the reviews on video doesn't make it justice. For anyone that wants a full hollow body but not wanting that bulkiness.. this one has the perfect body size and width. Very versatile, you can get a lot of different tones for all types of genres. At this price, it's a great deal.

Here is the thread for the previous FP post for this at the same price. I jumped on that one (a piezo model), you can read about my and others' experiences with this PAS deal on the thread. TL;DR, I did the $60 upgrade for a new piezo model, I received what looked like a new guitar, but it had some fret damage(not wear, more like corrosion, pics on that thread). I worked with PAS on it and they were great, I ended up getting the money back that I asked for, and used flitz to mostly fix the issue, until I have the time to do a full fret polishing job. A couple have gotten used guitars on this deal with PAS, but most got new I think, so it is YMMV, but chances are good that you get new. https://slickdeals.net/f/16640249-prs-se-hollowbody-ii-electric-guitar-black-gold-burst-or-faded-blue-burst-open-box-670?#comments

Been this price for awhile from them so not really a deal imo. I bought and returned one. It was nice but I found the pickups were dull and the piezo saddle volumes were inconsistent. And the SE doesn't have individual adjustments for the piezo saddles.

If just getting into PRS I would go for the non-piezo unless you are going to stay completely digital. Piezo on regular amps at low volumes creates unpredictable feedbacks.

BTW PAS "USED" is a way of getting around Manufacturers required minimum sale price. A lot of us on this forum have bought from them and every time its anything but used. B-Stock is genuine B-Stock as thats is how it is sold by the Manufacturer. "USED" is a hack that can't be used against them and also prevents you from price matching with Local stores.

I played a used version of this without the piezo and wasn't impressed. I wanted to love it, but it just seemed kind of dull. I will stick with my vintage artstar with Seth lover neck pickup for now.

Really nice guitar. I've wanted this for a couple of years, but after playing a few "wide fat" necks from PRS, I just don't care for it. I wish the same guitar came in the slimmer neck too.

Same reason I didn't buy it because I don't play Pauls Guitar when I need a PAF sound. The neck stops me and I reach for my D'angelico which is a PRS Core type neck
