stupid 3/8th sockets and driver just a way to pad tool/parts in the kit, because 1/4 and 1/2 do it all , and do it better.

Just an FYI. Don't be surprised if the case comes broken. Read the reviews as well. I had it shipped to the store the first time and took it home. When I opened it the case was completely cracked and unsafe to use. I spoke to their chat and they agreed to re-order another one at a 15% discount. The new one came straight to my house and though the case was fine, the tool carrying case inside had a broken handle and one of the tool kits inside was cracked (but usable). I decided to just keep it since the tools themselves seemed a good deal after the extra 15% off too.

Ditto on the broken case. A couple years ago I had one shipped to store to try to avoid breakage and they still cracked pieces off the edge of the lid such that it didn't seal any more. I returned it. I think a few people managed to convince DeWalt to ship out replacement cases.

jack of all trades? master of none.

it like netbook vs ipad. Netbook doesn't do anything better than a laptop, it do everything but it do it all worse!!
Most vehicles have a ton of fasteners in the 10-13mm range. General suggested torque range for a fastener in this size is something in roughly the 25-75 lb-ft range depending on the hardness of the fastener. A typical 1/4" drive ratchet is good for 20-30 lb-ft at most, before you risk breaking it. In fact, if we use most torque wrenches as a rough guideline, a 1/4" should top out somewhere in the teens.

If the fastening torque specification is above 20 lb-ft, you should be reaching for a 3/8". If you're telling me a 1/2" can get everywhere the 3/8" can for all of those just-too-tight-for-a-quarter-inch-drive fasteners, you obviously haven't done much wrenching.

I got REAL lucky during that time. Received original with a minor broken case, contacted them and they said they'd take care of it. They ended up sending me a completely new set, tools and all and let me keep the original as well. Gave it to my dad.

But, this is a great set, only wish it had a better assortment of wrenches. Having to remove trays to get to what you need isn't the funnest either but at least they don't fall out. Great to have the extra tray at the top for pliers, hammer, tape etc.

buy a quality 1/4 inch torque driver and it won't break. if it does, they'll just replace

u problem is u a cheapie and buy shadetree mechanic *junk*
The fact that you suggest buying a "torque driver" in lieu of the ratchet wrenches we're talking about further reinforces the fact that you haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about. Might be helpful to keep your garbage to yourself, so us poor "cheapies" don't get led astray by piss-poor advice.

3/8 ratchet and sockets are my main go to setup. It's almost always strong enough to do the job, and it also fits in most places. The other 2 are mainly specialty use for me at least when dealing with automotive mechanics uses. 🤷

actually, millions and million in europe and japan. said so. In europe, they just run 1/4 and 1/i2valents in mm. 3/8th etric equivalent is aviailable but for practical everyday use 1/2 and 1/4 equivalent is what they use:

"1/4" and "6,3" , 3/8" and "10" etc.
In Japan you also see this often.
But in real life you ask for a "halbzoll" ("half-inch") or "viertelzoll" ("quarter-inch") ratchet
(1 Zoll = 1 inch)"
