You will eventually need the stabilizer. Tabs should really only be used if you're going away and don't have a swcg. It adds too much cya. I used liquid chlorine until I got my swcg.
You shock with liquid chlorine. It's $5+ for 10% at Walmart. Go to troublefreepool and read. Pool care is easy and pool guys are a waste of money.

Tablets seem like a good price compared to Costco's 40lbs for $187. Pictures on Amazon show some folks have damaged tablets so it seems like it's a dice roll. I'll likely stick to Costco regardless but price per ounce is nice here
At 4.20/lb for the tabs is just an ok price not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.
I have seen $4.12 per lb within the last week (50lb bucket) so slightly expensive at $4.20.
Remember it is end of the season so companies are dropping pricing

Yeah cheaper than the current price at Costco. That is like $4.65 per lb. Plus you don't need to lug it around the store.
Nice to not need to invest in the larger size on the back side of the summer - hot - season here in AZ also. Maybe prices will come down even more before next summer? Doubtful... I need to just realize $90 for 50 lb tubs will never be a thing again.
thanks for the deal.
I always run out around this time and inevitably a big bucket has been all that's available..
Going through tabs like there is no tomorrow this year too thanks to the heat.
Stabilizer should be shelf stable to next year

'Shelf-stable to next year'. Thanks this is what I was hoping for someone to comment on.

If it's dry and stored in doors it will last much longer than that. I think I'll buy 2 or 3. Used 12 lbs this year and they were $20 each

Tempted by the stabilizer. Pinch a penny is always telling me I need stabilizer but It seems like a waste since I have a salt pool. I make my own chlorine, who cares if makes more.
My pool guy said I need to shock the pool. I have a salt water pool. Will any of this work? I'm quite clueless in this new pool thing š

You still need stabilizer. New salt cells are ridiculous now.

It is nice to see that the tablets are coming down in price, just a shame I just bought a 50# bucket.
