They ran this promo back in May and I missed the offer. I believe this is the one of the best, if not the best bonus offer for this specific card.

They expire 12 months from the time you get the free nights. I got them in my account from last bonus on 8/4/23 and they expire 8/4/24
recommend looking places you want to go first, then decide if the card is right for you.
It's hard to get a room at a decent property domestically for 50k. Handful of real options.
wow.. how many points do you guys have to think that 50K night certificates are hard to redeem... Five 50K certificates is hands down better than 100K points... I'm having a hard time figuring out why 100K pts would be better unless you ONLY stay at Ritz Carltons or All Inclusives for 1 night.
A typical free night certificate from most credit cards is only 35K pts/night. 50K/night certificates, and they give you five is pretty amazing...

How do I know? Do I have to check my credit reports? I did get an email from Capitol One that said there was, "a recent change in your Experian credit report." So I guess at least Experian.
I don't believe so. From what I've heard, I think it needs to be fully booked with points, but hoping someone else who knows for sure can chime in.
Correct- 5th night free is only on points, not certificate, bookings.

This is my plan. Just learned about the Ritz Carlton card recently, and was looking for a good bonus on the Boundless to apply.
To me the tricky bit with the RC is that nice juicy 85k cert you get to help offset the big annual fee is...just one night.
You can (esp. if you get good use out of the airline credit) very easily get more than the difference in AF cost out of that... but how USEFUL is 1 single night at a really nice hotel you're probably NOT going to pay cash or points for additional nights in?
There was a decent value if you combined it with the similar high-point cert on the Brilliant Amex Bonvoy card so you could at least get a weekend by using both-- but the extra $200/yr annual fee bump from $450 to $650 kinda killed the value of that card.... after the restaurant credit you're paying $350 for that 85k cert (and pseudo-plat status, but if you already have 2 Marriott cards and stay any decent # of nights you'd already have plat anyway organically).... So at that point you're paying $1100 a year between the Amex and RC annual fees to get:
$300 in semi-tricky to use airline credits
$300 in $25/mo restaurant credits (giving up opp cost of using a better card at at least 1 restaurant a month)
Plat status you probably already had a better version of
and 2 85k/night certs (with the opportunity cost of giving up the $95 for 35k cert of the bonvoy chase card you had to upgrade to the RC card)
I think I'd rather have $1005 dollars and the 1 35k cert (that I can stack with the $95 35k cert from my Bonvoy biz card for a weekend than have $0, 2 85k certs, and $600 in credits I need to be sure I get use out of.

Thank you! This is some good points to think about. I guess my goal was to swap out my Sapphire Reserve for the RC and then combine it with the Amex Platinum since the RC seems to have a lower cost with similar benefits and less overlap with the Amex Platinum. I don't think I could justify having both the Reserve and Amex Platinum.
FYI I got the 3 nights of 50k points deal from on the other chase bonvoy card. I found myself in a dilemma where I don't want to use the 50k certificate for 30-40k points per night nor pay extra for 55-60k points hotel. Marriott has pricing done this way so just be aware of this strategy. I would have much preferred 150k or 250k bonus deals instead of 5 nights of 50k.
Applied and approved on 8/18. I messaged them asking to expediate my card and I got it today. Taking a 2 week European vacation next week, so we'll put all our spend on it.

I dropped platinum when they removed the free guests at centurion lounges.... because at that point unless you're a solo traveler it's just a really expensive coupon book.
CSR at least still gets you free food (and food for a guest) at a couple dozen airport bars/restaurants in addition to the normal priority pass+2 guest benefit.... and the travel credit is FAR FAR easier to value at 100% compared to the Amex airline incidentals one.
Plus CSR=Free primary car rental insurance, amex still charges like 25 bucks per rental or something for that.

Lots of good info... just to add for those that want both the Ritz Carlton and the Brilliant. You must apply for the Brillant BEFORE you upgrade to the Ritz Carlton. Once you get the Ritz Carlton, AMEX won't approve you for the Brillant so make sure you do the Brilliant before the Ritz Carlton.
For those that are wondering, other than the 85K night certificate, each card is good for different things. Ritz Carlton is good for lounge access for yourself and family/friends and Brilliant is good for Platinum Status. If you don't value either of those things, it may not be worth it.
The way I travel, having at least two 85K certificates would be ideal... 1 doesn't do me much good. I don't tend to do 1 night stays and I really really want to avoid switching hotels. Unless it's a special location positioning strategy, but usually 1 night doesn't allow you to enjoy the hotel or "settle down." With that said, the super high value everybody attributes to these 85K certificates do not apply to me. I'm not going to stay there for 1 night and switch to a cheaper hotel for the rest of the trip. I'm also not going to use the certificate for some super expesnive hotel and then pay cash for the rest of the nights... However with all that said, I still get at least $350-$500 or more for the certifcate so it's still good...
Oh FFS, let's be realistic here. You've apparently never heard of JW Marriott hotels, nor Ritz-Carlton or even Autograph. While Marriott has slipped a bit in the last few years, to say that all their properties are crap is ludicrous. JWs are amazing -- the one in Bucharest is stunning.
I guess I'll call Chase to see if I can convert my current Marriott Rewards card (I still have old branding!) to this one. Not sure they'll let me, but it would be nice as the 5 nights could be useful for visiting our daughter in college. I'm Lifetime Platinum so the staus is useless (Silver is pointless; $35k spending for Gold is not worth it, either), but even one free night at $95 is worth it since hotels are routinely $150+ these days.
I doubt they will let you change to this card. I think any status less than Plat is worth about zero. Since you can top these using points it is a good deal. I just got back from Sydney and had a nice Marriott which also upgraded me. I had stayed there before. The claim the hotels are not good is ridiculous. There are good properties in the mix. I still have the AMEX Bonvoy card so I cant go for this right now. Maybe in the future.
I'm not sure how some people are having a good experience with this card. They only allow you to use up to 15k in points on top of the free night certificates for free nights. If the hotel charges more than 65k you are sol and need to pay in cash for those nights, which limits most of not all the nicer hotels. If you see yourself accumulating a ton of points with purchases and enjoy traveling then maybe consider this card. If you are considering just for the 5 night bonus certificates, probably isn't a good idea unless you like cheap hotels lol. Bye
