It's a 13th gen laptop, just came out. Even used for a year plugged in I would imagine 7-10% give or take from my own experience. So maybe 1% given the return policy is 14 days and that's what these open box units are.
If you care that much about resale value you might as well get a MacBook. Windows laptops have always had bad resale value

MacBooks have also plummeted, not many buyers interested in paying over 1k for laptops they can't write off. I buy and sell and I barely got 1k for a M1 Pro 14 inch, 750 for a M2 Air. Buyers are prioritizing other purchases.
And the value retention of gaming laptops has always been atrocious. The decision isn't Windows vs Mac. It's gaming laptop vs non-gaming laptop.
If you only plan to use this around the house, and just don't want to be chained to a desk with a gaming desktop, then look into remote gaming options like Steam Remote Play (formerly Steam Link). The game runs on your gaming PC, but the display (and control inputs) are shunted to your laptop (or tablet or phone) via your home network. Gaming desktops at least hold their value a bit better than gaming laptops.
Since about 2010, all GPUs have had a hardware h.264 encoder built-in. This lets you convert video into a highly compressed data stream in real time. So it's trivial to stream games (what made Twitch possible). For the receiving computer it's doing the same thing as playing a streamed movie from Netflix. The only downsides are latency, and pixelation during lots of fast action. Oh, it's also not always stable.
The plus side is that since the game is running on your gaming PC and your laptop is basically just streaming a movie, it'll barely impact the laptop's battery. You can easily play for 6-8 hours unplugged on your patio. Whereas a gaming laptop will only last 1-2 hours on battery.
Actually it's 10GB or 12GB for laptops, surprised that RTX4070 for laptops is only 8GB, Nvidia bastards.
Legion 7 Gen 7 16ARHA7 AMD (16") with Radeon RX 6850M XT
Part Number: 82UH0001US
But I've been unsuccessful so far. It'll have the ram to maintain near 4080/3080 speeds in next gen games. There are 2 on ebay, and nearly gone, but the price is now insane.
In any case, both AMD and Nvidia dropped the ball this APU release cycle. They are right back where there were in actual performance from a year ago, talking into consideration the 9GB Vram req most new games have now.
Anywho, these are just first world issues. Not a big deal. Except for the AI gpu shortage... ah well. C'est la vie.

Where is this information coming from? Most newer games I've played and tested on 6gb ram cards perform great at 1080/1440. Let's not confuse niche performance standards of 100+ fps ultra gaming on the vast majority of gamers. 8gb Vram cards are gonna be relevant for years for most.
Edu M2 air is 999-150=849. Stack with discounted GC, it is $764 out of pocket for a SDer.
