Don't get the hype with this, got one a while back and don't find it very useful.

Besides the normal gardening, I use this when I'm trying to catch gophers. Great knife for reopening holes.

The njp6510 has a much nicer sheath. I bought it on sale last year for $10. Time machine included.

Just use an old kitchen knife with a shealth made from cardboard and painters tape. That's what i use to cut open bags of mulch, score the ball of roots, etc.

Totally agree. I bought a second, with the better sheath. This is my favorite yard tool!

The plastic sheath is nice, but it adds too much size. I actually prefer the sleeker sheath on the original version because it fits better in pockets and in hand.

I use mine for almost every small job in the garden. Digging out compacted soil for a bulb, cutting grass roots if I'm planting a tree (makes it easier to roll the grass and saves my energy for "rolling the grass" later), mixing perlite into soil, harvesting romaine or other things like pruning the odd branch here and there with the hand saw side if I'm too lazy to go back to the garage to get my snips

FWIW I got the same blade early last year and still find it super useful almost daily
