This is an older model before they upgraded the steel right? Not criticizing just noticing difference.

I just know looking at other models like the NJP801 they mention this upgraded steel and those cost more, my guess is these are being phased out but it's still obviously a good knife that many like and at this price it's no doubt still a good deal, I guess we'd need to know what kind of steel these older models are to begin to research the difference but they don't advertise it for these.

edit: also the NJP651 which has been posted here for $13 has the upgraded steel
