Edit: Wohoo!! I managed to get best buy to price match it. It took 3-4 hours chatting with different representatives until one finally budged and gave me the price match of $512! Funny thing is I almost gave up before the last rep said they'd match it. Out of stock in my local town so I drove an hour away to a neighbor state to pick it up. My advice to anyone: keep asking new best buy chat reps. Don't get discouraged. Persistence is key. Good luck!

The price is $999.97 (or higher), but I saw in the computer with a manager that they're supposed to go down to $599.97 on Sept. 4.
Buy now & hold until after that date and they may credit the difference.
If not, you can always return unopened for a refund.
I got these locations/quantities on Monday night.
They're probably not 100% accurate as of today, but they all had 4 or more, so a decent chance they'll still have a couple left.
Try calling to confirm before you head out.
If they say they have one left, it's the display model.

There appears to be two Costco's in Bakersfield.
The SW Bakersfield store was the only one that showed any inventory.
Checking on 8/28 with a manager at a store near me, the SW Bakersfield store
showed:
6 55" at $999.97 down from $1,199.97
and also:
6 65" at $999.97 down from $1,599.97
That was just over a week ago and those are great prices, especially for the 65".
I'm sure they sold pretty quickly, but I'd say call the SW store this morning and see if they have any left.
Don't go before calling, it'll be a waste of time.
I purchased a 55" for $999.97 near me with the idea of price matching to $599.97 this week.
If the price doesn't go down, I'll return unopened for a full refund.

I don't mean to shame, but devaluing your own time is not being thrifty….it's a different word
I feel like a $50 yearly membership would simply be smarter/thriftier? Plus, the gas at Sams is not the same as Costco, so save your car as well.

I saw someone mention Mistplay, saying they had used $500 from it to buy a PS5. Downloaded it myself, legitimately at most you could earn $3 an hour. The games were too soul crushingly stupid for me to last long enough to get rewards.
