This is interesting. I'll check what the theatres looks like Sunday. But if rather pay 7 bucks on Tuesday to not be in a crowded theatre potentially full of people that use their phones, talk, bring babies, etc.

This is a best way to meet all slick dealers once a year at the movie theatres.

Too bad there's an Actor's strike. I won't set foot in a theater until it's resolved.

Plenty of non-slick dealers are going to be there too...

Boo... Last year it was on a Saturday now it's a Sunday.
Because National Cinema Day is Aug 27th every year, not the last Saturday of the month. Lol

Of all the movies I've ever been two, there have only been 2 instances where someone was using a phone and another one with people talking. What you are describing is very rare

On Sunday? They'll be empty even with this offer that hardly anyone will know about. You must not go to the movies very often because the theaters are ghost towns on Sunday.
No, the theaters will be packed!

Part of the fun going to the movies was getting the overpriced soda and popcorn but now no FREE refills.

The refill made the price not seem as bad as it is.

Ticket fees to order online and reserve seats.

We now watch all movies at home with unlimited soda and popcorn and save lots of money.
They still do free refills at the theaters around me. I believe that is a perk of the AMC Stubs program also - the free membership tier.

This makes seeing a movie at the theater reasonable. But if you want to go regularly, then it's $10 per ticket, $8 for popcorn and $6 for a small drink, so about $24/person...a movie date is almost $50 now. I have a nice little home theater with 7.2 surround sound, theater seating with "butt shakers" and top of the line 4K TV, so buying the 4K disc For less than that $50 makes a LOT more sense to me.
It's also easy to go to the movies and just avoid the concessions and bring in what you want. I bring in my water bottle every time. It's also not hard to sit through a 2 hour movie without snacks. And why would each person need their own popcorn? You can share.

The CDC is saying COVID is on the rise again? Wear a mask! Wear gloves! Get another vaccination! Don't fly! Stay away from crowds! Yawn!
It's almost like it's their job to inform the public, being a public health organization and all. What you choose to do is up to you...if you have plenty of sick time accumulated at work, then sure. But some people would rather not risk having to use that time up.
