These machine comes with a default windows 11/10 but there is a software that comes with it, that you can see it under START UP services. I forgot the name but please make sure you reinstall windows.

Works great, zero problems from start, setup done and online in no time.
Detected my WIFI, password logged right in.
Logged right to my MS account and loaded Win11. Already have a 2 TB drive installed.
BTW I ended up ordering the EQ12 which has dual NICs and USB-C for $177.
This was below $150 the other day

I doubt this unit will last long as a desktop unit.
I run it as a headless unit with docker and I am monitoring this unit like a hawk with CPU utilization, clock speed, and temps using node-exporter + prometheus. I run SMB and Plex media server locally 24/7. I got hardware transcoding working on it with Ubuntu. But it wasn't working out of box. I run containers for app/DB stack along with openvpn+torrent client to torrent files. For people using Ubuntu LTS 22, the node advisor on SNAP will peg this unit's CPU consistently at 2.8ghz+. I compiled the latest node-exporter and that took care of it. I have this unit hard wired to the ethernet. It's a server and I don't want it to suck up wifi bandwidth so that was fine. I did experiment with latest stable release for kicks and used 6.2 kernel and the WIFI did not work. I read that 6.4 kernel works with WIFI5 but I didn't want to bother so I went back to 5.x kernel and gave up on Bluetooth and Wifi as I don't need them.
Even with low cpu utilization, I saw the CPU temps idling at 42 degrees and spiking up to 80+ for no reason. So I replaced the thermal paste and my unit sits as low as 32 degrees (down from 42) when it's idle. I also replaced the m.2 with Samsung EVO plus 2TB as I didn't trust the M.2 that came with this. I am hoping all my changes and relatively low CPU utilization, I am hoping this unit will last 5+ years.
But if you are using this for Windows and it has the BIOS setting I saw, I'd give it 2 -3 years tops before the CPU is fried. This has a cheap/flimsy heatsink + a very weak fan. If you are playing games on this on a regular basis, I wouldn't be shocked if it dies in < 12 months.

-I changed my MS password to a temp one.
-Set up my MS account during initial EQ 12 setup.
-Got into Windows, verified that the activation said Active with digital key tied to my account.
-I also went into the registry and recorded the key just incase.
-Reset my PC (download option) but got stuck at 44% and totally fubared the machine where it had issues posting.
-I eventually got it to reinstall W11 Pro using media creation tool from MS. Used "I do not have key option" when prompted.
-However during install W11 would not detect any Ethernet or WiFi adapter, so I had to bypass network screen and do limited install; which means no MS account gets inputted during setup and you log in using local login/password.
-After install, I check activation and it is valid and active despite being on a local account.
-So now I know the install is pure Microsoft and clean.
Bottom-line: believe the key is in the BIOS as I was able to reinstall using MS media creation tool without MS account and have successful activation.
I was able to reset my EQ12 using MS media creation tool and it activates fine.
My EQ 12 worked just fine even when I reinstalled on a local account. It said it was active with valid when I got it running. Then after I logged into MS account later it said active with key tied to account.
I also did complete partition deletion, recreation, format, and fresh install using MS Media Creation Tool on USB.
