I understand this is a great mouse, but in 2023 why only wireless and not BT as well?

Good point. I like my razer. can switch. BT long Battery life. 2.4 when I need more performance.
on BT, I get 1+ months on a single amazon AA rechargable.

I've had trouble with gaming mice on Bluetooth. The mouse seems to go into a power saving mode after a few minutes of inactivity. The setting is supposedly accessible through the driver settings, but bluetooth enabled mice still seems to sleep and not responsive for a few seconds. For work, this is a minor annoyance. For gaming, it's usually a non-starter.

I returned the non rgb wired version of this mouse because it felt so cheap compared to previous g502 which you can get it on sale for 35 bucks with braided cable, rgb, better feel.

I wonder if wireless rgb version feels any more premium or pretty much the same hmm

Logitech mouse are way overpriced... i guess there's no good competition
The issue is that mouses with optical scroll wheel and buttons sold in the US are this one and the most expensive Razer one. If you need such features, then you are limited to these two options. I hope others start utilizing optical scroll wheel/switches to bring the price down.

The reason for that BT power saving is to save battery. Today, the trend is rechargeable, so it makes sense to save "juice". Another reason is weight, a light gaming mouse (under 70g), most likely will be using a LiPo rechargeable battery and not AA/AAA.
My final argument is this: if you play games, then most likely your mouse won't have time to sleep, unless you take a break as well.
The only point where I see a gamer favoring wireless over BT would be the pooling time, and if you play games where you click spam a lot, you will want 1000Hz (1ms) vs 133Hz which is the upper limit for BT.

BT has lag and delay when it comes to gaming. Logitect would want to avoid someone pairing via bluetooth and the reach out to their support about the lag. So they just removed the feature all together.

It's useful for switching between devices. I don't see why they couldn't throw it in with such a price tag.
