These are actually great pans. I've had a set for years. But after a few years of use, some flaking occurred on the surface and I warrantied them and they sent me a new set without any hassle or having to send them back. I have another Calphalon set that was much more expensive and the non-stick performance is really poor in comparison. I warrantied those as well and they are still in the box waiting to be used the next time I have to send the oxo's in. Both are good companies that stand up for their warranties...at least in my experience!
12" is also the lowest it's ever been @ $35. I paid $50 for it a year or two ago. This was America Test Kitchen's top rated nonstick pan, too, fwiw.
I've got the 10" and 12", and they're almost -too- non-stick, lol.. it's hard to separate/remove grease when frying ground beef because it slides so easily.
8" seems a little small unless you just want to fry an egg or two.

got one. Cooked egg over easy no oil. First side was fine. flipped it and the other side stuck, scratch marks from the silicone spatula. Back it goes,
You scratched the best non-stick frying pan according to America's Test Kitchen, using an egg and a silicone spatula? Seems implausible, and not just because I own and use these pans which have never had an egg stick in 3 years.

8 inch is perfect for making frittata (2 adult/large servings or 1 adult + 2 kids). For years, when I chopped veggies for meals, I'd chop extra and store in tiny glass bowls in the fridge (good way to avoid waste in our family). Kids could preheat oven, scramble 4-5 eggs in a bowl with seasonings and shredded cheese...then grab leftover veggies and saute 2 minutes, pour eggs in and put pan in oven 20ish minutes (while they get ready for school). Teach them to feed themselves and they can bypass processed foods and fast foods...and you can sleep in 😉

Spend your money on a good carbon steel pan instead. No non-stick coating and indestructible.
I agree with this sentiment, but for those of us who don't really know what we're doing in the kitchen, which is most of us, the convenience and ease of a good quality nonstick is hard to beat for most stovetop tasks, as long as one understands their limitations.
I *do* know what I'm doing in the kitchen and still use my nonstick pans a lot. And this is a great deal on excellent nonstick pans.
But yeah, if I'm cooking a cut of meat or anything else I want a screaming hot surface for, or anything I want to transition to/from the oven, I'm reaching for a hard anodized or carbon steel alternative. But I have a small commercial kitchen's worth of cookware in my home (my mom is a professional chef, and I benefit from a lot of hand me downs), and I still use my oxo pro nonstick almost every day..
Quality pan, I've owned the 8in for awhile. My only complaint is the handle. It's comfortable but it's way to long and heavy for a small pan. If it doesn't sit perfectly on my stove it tips over, it makes the pan very awkward.

Yes, it seems implausible, but that is what happened. I should have taken a video. As I said, one side of the egg was perfect, but after flipping it, the other side stuck and and had to use the OXO silicone spatula to scrape the egg off. Quality variation?
Lol my mom has this pan, it sucks. I see it in her sink and eggs are always stuck on to it lol.
have her put a bit of fat and/or oil in it - but also note that it's not truly non-stick, it really needs a bit of fat generally, but is a very different experience to cook eggs in this pan versus others (yes, I understand how to cook eggs in ss, etc.).

I watched two ATK non-stick pan roundups and I don't think either mentioned this point.
I'm a little disturbed that ATK sells this stuff.
