Overall it works, but I feel like the wyze cameras could be better. For a real security system I'd go with another camera. For watching my cats it's fine

You can probably catch a wired dvr cam setup like night owl on sale or xlearance, might do the job you're asking for better.
Can be hit or miss. I got ring door bell that were factory refurbished. but recently I got a Wyze flood light that's like amazon return and resell. it doesn't come with anything other than the unit itself.
Trying to figure out the ratings, IP64 means "protected from total dust ingress. Protected from water spray from any direction"
Has anyone left this outside year round. In the rain, etc.? Or it's best if it's covered under something to protect it from direct rain?
Thanks.

I have four Wyze cams and five Unifi cams which are in the Unifi Protect ecosystem. The Wyze cams have a much more limited Wi-Fi range compared to the Unifi cams. Several of my Unifi cams are PoE.
The Wyze cams listen for the standard sound produced by smoke/CO2 alarms and will do a push alert if you have the app. This is not a requirement of any paid service or using the Docker bridge. The Unifi cams I think determine that visually.
It's pretty neat to see how much IR light these put out when you have two cams within visual monitoring of each other. It looks like you've left a light on when viewing one cam.
I have four detached structures on my property and the cams give me the ability to monitor. Long story made short, my camera system saved one of those structures on my property a few weeks ago. I had a small fire when I wasn't home which was caught early enough. The fire department said if you were a minute later, it would've been a total loss.

I am using it for outdoor Patio lights, 2+ years exposed to Snow and Rain with no issues so far

This also has egift card, if you can bundle to $100 or more.
I control it via Alexa when I'm home, and set it up to automatically turn the lights on each evening, and off each morning when I'm away.

That being said, I did move from Eufy 2K to Wyze V3 some time ago and find them to be noticeably better in pretty much all respects.
