You can use the Docker Wyze Bridge addon to pump the video feed into frigate NVR addon for object detection, video recording, and playback in home Assistant.

Overall it works, but I feel like the wyze cameras could be better. For a real security system I'd go with another camera. For watching my cats it's fine

I've seen new Cam v3 multi-packs cheaper or the same price as these refurbs in the past.

Home Depot 2-pack if you were lucky enough to find it was the only time I've seen it cheaper.

Can this work without internet? Need to setup one for parents
2 ways.. they might run if you pre configure, possibly on a phone Hotspot then offline. you'd simply pull the sd card to review. Method 2, is setup for rtsp and run a server in house, such as blue iris. Storage and viewing would happen through that computer, lan required, but no internet.

You can probably catch a wired dvr cam setup like night owl on sale or xlearance, might do the job you're asking for better.

how useful are they without subscriptions?
They really aren't. Unless you like videos of bugs and leaves waving in the wind, these are terrible for actual burglar prowler warnings. Subscription is about 1.63/mo per cam.

Can anyone comment about their experience with refurbished products from Woot?

Can be hit or miss. I got ring door bell that were factory refurbished. but recently I got a Wyze flood light that's like amazon return and resell. it doesn't come with anything other than the unit itself.

Anyone have the Wyze Outdoor IP64 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Smart Plug?

Trying to figure out the ratings, IP64 means "protected from total dust ingress. Protected from water spray from any direction"

Has anyone left this outside year round. In the rain, etc.? Or it's best if it's covered under something to protect it from direct rain?

Thanks.

What's included with free sub instead of $5/mo sub? Also, can you adjust recording limitation to 30s or 60s instead of 12s limit?

I've been using the outdoor smart plug to control the patio lights on my back deck for over two years now, and it's been flawless. I don't need another one, but I'm tempted to get it anyway and find a reason to use it, maybe to control Christmas lights out front or something like that?

You'll only get snap shots not videos of the events.
Sorta true. The cam v2, flood, and cam v3 can do cam plus lite for free and get 12 second videos. Anything made newer than those cameras do not get cam plus lite.

Totally agree. I'm running the Wyze bridge on my Synology and have the cams being recorded on the Synology Surveillance station.

I have four Wyze cams and five Unifi cams which are in the Unifi Protect ecosystem. The Wyze cams have a much more limited Wi-Fi range compared to the Unifi cams. Several of my Unifi cams are PoE.

The Wyze cams listen for the standard sound produced by smoke/CO2 alarms and will do a push alert if you have the app. This is not a requirement of any paid service or using the Docker bridge. The Unifi cams I think determine that visually.

It's pretty neat to see how much IR light these put out when you have two cams within visual monitoring of each other. It looks like you've left a light on when viewing one cam.

I have four detached structures on my property and the cams give me the ability to monitor. Long story made short, my camera system saved one of those structures on my property a few weeks ago. I had a small fire when I wasn't home which was caught early enough. The fire department said if you were a minute later, it would've been a total loss.

I am using it for outdoor Patio lights, 2+ years exposed to Snow and Rain with no issues so far

Must be on your Wi-Fi to control it ? or can you control it through the Internet if you're out of town?

I don't know. I've never tried to control it remotely.

I control it via Alexa when I'm home, and set it up to automatically turn the lights on each evening, and off each morning when I'm away.

Maybe you could test it with the Wyze app while shutting off your Wi-Fi ,that way you know it's going through the Internet

For indoor wyze 3 is better or eufy?
I hate the way Wyze is moving away from any services that aren't paid. The V3 is prolly the last that will work with the lite (free) plan as the newer "V3 pan" is blocked from the lite plan by Wyze.

That being said, I did move from Eufy 2K to Wyze V3 some time ago and find them to be noticeably better in pretty much all respects.
